I'll engage you TT. Don't you think ND has to lose or this plan wouldn't work?

Maybe. I think it’s still possible they get dumped on if they lose to LSU and sit the SECCG out this year.

Would require Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan and UGA winning out. Michigan would have a better loss. UGA would have lost to the same team that beat Bama, but have the conference championship. Clemson would be undefeated and conference champion. Notre Dame undefeated. What theoretically holds ND back in the playoff is a lack of conference championship, but neither them nor Bama would have a conference championship in the above scenario and Notre Dame would be undefeated with a win over Michigan. In a sense, Auburn could ruin it for them by not being a quality win. Bama likely would have beaten 0 ranked teams in the above scenario. Maybe 20 something Miss St or aTm.

With that said, I think they’re going undefeated and it’s moot.

Notre Dame doesn’t deserve to be in, IMO, even if they finish undefeated. They definitely don’t pass the “eye test” everyone talks about.

Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Clemson and I think other teams would wipe the floor with them.

Of course, they are a “big” name and the money would be there.

Be that as it may be, they are in if undefeated and they do have a top 10 win. Honestly, I thought they would be number 1 until next week. Via their win over Michigan. Anyway, there is no room for a second SEC team to get in if ND is in.

I hate to admit it, but I think Sid is right.

Alabama has played in 2 National Championships while not even winning the SEC West, much less the SEC Championship.

Think about that.

It’s going to happen.

They’re in unless they have 2 losses.

And to think that some people want to see an 8 team playoff.

Alabama would never, ever be left out.

Not only does Alabama pay the refs and the whole SEC, they pay the CFB playoff committee as well. Money well spent. Whoever said you can’t buy happiness doesn’t have a lot of money in their athletic department.

Tua getting hurt would probably work against us too, but hopefully it won't happen.
