I've heard his knowledge of the O isn't great and was told that his chances of being named OC when Gus leaves are "zero". you are right about your staff's recognition of the issue and desire to rid themselves of him. He's going to have to get a job offer though or he'll be renewed. Again, he knows too much.
I think one of the following is how you get rid of him:
1) they help him get OC job at smaller school & that allows him to save face
2) ncaa nails him over stuff in miami (evidently, it was sloppy) and "show causes" his arse giving AU the out they need

I'm not buying the whole Jeff Lee/Bama bought Calloway stuff but for you Bama fans thinking Saban is clean,you're sorely mistaken.He's not sleazy in any way but he crosses the line in recruiting more than most.There are things in his closet from the LSU days that if they ever get out would kill him and the LSU program.I never heard too much regarding his dirt and bama aside from some little rumblings but the Clowney recruitment proved that he still has is hand in the violation bag.His recruitment of Clowney was as dirty as it gets.Good thing USCe got him or there would have been a huge shite storm brewing over Tuscaloosa.It's all fair to me though.Every major football program has their skeletons in the closet.It's part of recruiting.No caoch or program is so good that they don't have to cheat to be successful.USC in the Pete Carroll era could have realistically about 80-85% of the kids they wanted nationally and they still cheated.It's the nature of the beast.
