Which is why all the whining from Auburn fans about Alabama getting a slap on the wrist for the textbook "violations" was such a joke. Alabama had to vacate 21 wins over the same violation that Nebraska received no penalty for. The fact there was an penalty for receiving books and for a situation and distribution problem rooted out and fixed by Alabama themselves is a joke. It is exhibit A for why NO SCHOOL should ever cooperate with the NCAA.

I also never understood the celebration by many Bama fans when the penalties were announced. I thought it was huge penalty, better to have lost two scholarships (1 per year) which is what I thought would happen.

It is assumed, yet he was not convicted of cheating by NCAA, if I'm not mistaken. Sounds like the whole AU/Cam Newton thing if you ask me. Many assume (i'm not one of them, btw) that there was cheating involved yet nothing ever charged/proven.
