totally naive to think that losing AJ wouldnt matter. You probably take for granted the way he takes care of the football, which ultimately is his biggest attribute. He is what separates us from the other teams in america.

Yes we know you have built a dynasty off of good defense and a QB being so good at mediocracy that he doesn't frick things up.

ok fine Heisman isnt about football just pure numbers so i guess he doesnt deserve that.

If AJ was on LSU they would be virtually unbeatable. Much like alabama is now.

but yet still win games when he needs to like against LSU for the title. not as easy as it sounds. Mettenberger hasnt learned yet.

Yeah I didn't mean for that post to downplay him at all like it inevitably did. He does a great job of doing what he needs to do, I don't think that means he deserves a heisman though.

Troll. He is about the least most important player on Bama's team right in front of the long snapper and kickers.

Not least important, but you could probably plug any starting QB from the SEC not names Kyle and the Tide would still be undefeated.

He has been very good when I have seen him throw but he actually has fewer yards passing than Mett does at this point. IMO he just isn't asked to do enough to be MVP of the league.

If you don't think BAMA would be a complete dumpster fire without AJ, then you need to GTFO of this thread.

We can't have you messing up the popular belief in this thread.

No one really knows how good McCarron is. He may be average or he may be great.

McCarron hasn't ever been called on to win a game, just protect the football. McCarron is great at throwing it away (which also helps avoid interceptions, hence the statistic), basically, but that's all we know about him.

He had a few good throws in the NC game last year, but it's hard to hang your hat on a handful of good throws/season.

It's not McCarron's fault. The O-line and defense are so amazing that Saban can afford to coach McCarron to manage the game, as he does effectively.

The only thing that might hurt AL if McCarron goes down is if the next QB tries to do too much.

Because he's the best player on the best team

Not even. There are three first-team All-Americans on that offensive line on CBS's mid-year AA team.

Can't really disagree at this point. Could change by year's end, but who knows?

well i mean our defense separates us...but we could lose individual guys on D and survive...but not AJ

Thank you Captain Obvious, I never would have known that the QB is the most important position on the field. Almost no team in america could survive the loss of their starting QB. AJ is a good QB, but Bama could withstand his loss pretty easily in my opinion.

dude you can say that for almost every team...
