Used to say that too before I moved here. One trip to Bronson pretty much cleared that up, not that anything I would count anything south of Ocala really.

Then again, having grown up in Mississippi and lived in Texas, I can't say I would count anything west of I-45 as the South either. I mean, cornbread cooked in a goddamned muffin tin and no one knows what the hell a boiled peanut is? Hell, Gainesville isn't even that wayward.

All bullshite aside, the panhandle has some of the filthiest rednecks I've ever seen.

Yea Ive always heard the panhandle was pretty southern. South Fl is obviously not but what about the middle part of the state?
What about Gainesville?
I know someone who lives in Gainesville who went to A&M and he thinks its pretty similar to College Station.

Florida is weird because there is no gradient. You'd expect things to blend from one thing to the next, but it doesn't.

The interior of the state south of Gainesville down the the Everglades was cattle country until A/C became popular. You end up with these weird pockets like Plant City, which is decidedly southern, 25 miles from Tampa, which is decidedly not.

Gainesville honestly reminds me of a much smaller, poorer version of Austin. It's a decidedly liberal/progressive town that is pretty much different than the rest of the area in which it sits. Think of a miniture version of driving out of Travis County into WilCo or Hays County. However, that more than likely is pretty normal for college towns in conservative areas I would imagine.

A&M hasn't beaten an SEC team in quite a while. We've whiffed twice against Arkansas, gotten abused by Tennessee and Georgia, and it just hasn't been pretty.

However, I really think Sumlin is going to turn things around at A&M, and if Manziel doesn't freak out we have a pretty decent shot at our first SEC win.

I'm sure Florida doesn't want to be the first team to lose to A&M.
