My phone was basically dead (7%) and I save it for the vids you saw. But I am sure someone had to get one of the SEC chants ... they were great.
7% is enough for that, and far more worth it than some knock off of Rammer Jammer. You dropped the ball, kiddo.

Learn you history ... Rammer Jammer is the knock off.
The Rammer Jammer cheer actually didn't appear until around 1982, said Kathleen Cramer, then the UA cheerleading sponsor and now associate vice president at UA's office of student affairs.
Cheerleaders composed the cheer/sas they rode back from an Alabama victory over Ole Miss in the early 1980s. The tune to Rammer Jammer was taken from an Ole Miss cheer.
"We made it up after an Ole Miss trip because they had some cheers that were uniquely theirs," Cramer said.
"It was patterned after that. We wanted to incorporate old cheers, as well as things particular to this state. And it was immediately popular."
Oh and I have heard the SEC chant enough that it isn't as novel to me as it would be to you newbies ... still though I wish I had it to share.

Austin is a cool city to visit and is probably the most scenic part of Texas.
But their fans are awful. They arenr rude per se, but the most arrogant f--ks walking the earth.
DKR Stadium is well known to be the most quiet 100,000 people ever assembled in one place.

It was by far the quietest stadium I have ever been in and I don't mean when it was empty.
I mean when it was packed to the brim and they were winning.

I know. That was the joke.

Wasn't 6th Street where that Ole Miss fan got beaten up?

What I heard was somewhere near the corner of 7th and Trinity.

Trust me, that SEC chant is far more painful for the Texas fans to endure.

It took me a while to figure it out but really Texas is just the local NFL team to Austin. Fans go for the social event but if Texas isn't good or winning they bail immediately. I have only heard it get moderately loud a few times on really big plays in an important game. Most of the time if you are in the 1st Deck you can hear the QB calling the cadence.
They do have some nice club areas and tailgates though. Great for getting your drunk on and then heading to 6th Street or the Warehouse District.

My wife and I first met at that bar. It's the Blind Pig. The guy who owns it / runs it is a cool dude. That part of 6th Street (E 6th) is EXTREMELY ghetto these days and people with money do their partying elsewhere downtown, Warehouse District, on West 6th, on Rainey Street, and over in the hipster bars East of 35. As a resilt, that guy at Blind Pig will buy you a bunch of drinks if you are good looking and well dressed just so you'll stay around as an effort to establish to other potential customers that decent people will drink there. No doubt in my mind he encouraged Ole Miss fans to congregate there and kept the riff-raff and UT fans looking for trouble out on purpose - that's his typical MO, which is smart.

That's a very good way of putting it. Exactly how all my UT friends treat their football season. It was strange growing up an sec fan in longhorn country.

I have a new neighbor that just moved from Minnesota and is a huge Big 1G fan and just a college football fan in general.
He really wants to make a game up at Kyle but he also wanted to check out a game at Texas. I had an extra for this week with SMU and asked if he wanted to go. He had already bought 2 decent seats for this weekend's Texas game with KSU but said he would just sell them online. First he dropped it 30% of face. Then 50%. Then 70%. No takers. So he said he had to cancel on me so he isn't eating the tix (he bought them for he and his wife).
When the wheels start to wobble they bail on that program like its got herpes. Still hoping to get him out to a later game, my problem is that even though I have 5 extra tickets for every game at Kyle with my Dad I have been bombarded with requests and will need another cancellation.
Most Texas fans I know have already moved on to the NFL. It's an incredibly fair weathered fanbase. I remember in '10 which was a year after Texas was in the Natty but had their 5-7 year I bought 2 tickets with a parking pass on the 40 at DKR at 70% of face value from a Texas guy (someone who didn't know me personally) who knew I was going to go wearing maroon. If they think Texas will lose they just won't go.
