So all my friends from high school at A&M got their rings today, so why are they getting them at the end of our junior year instead of sometime next year?

And if there are any aggie posted that got their rings today congrats!

What school doesn't sell rings after Junior year? High school included.

I will give you a real answer. After you earn 90 hours they let you get a ring. You wear it as a SR.

It is true. Instant conversation starter. I can mainly speak for O&G, but people know that little gold ring & its reputation immediately when they see it.

I work in O&G as well and I am jealous as frick of those magic rings. If I wore an LSU ring other LSU coworkers would just laugh at me

Well, I've been O&G for 40 years. Those rings are not "little gold rings," they are BIG gold rings. There is a reason that Aggies are known in the industry as "ring knockers." Tapping that fricking metal on the table is somehow supposed to trump actual scientific knowledge and true engineering innovation, qualities which do not necessarily accompany an Aggie ring.

The reason they have clout is aggies incestually look out for each other, bend over for each other and generally behave like a cult promoting and scratching each other's back. The only way I can describe it to a New Orleans audience is that it is like they went to Jesuit, but Jesuit wasn't located on Carrollton Blvd., N.O, but instead was located up in Pearlington, Miss..
