Texas fans are in a weird spot because they have to be satisfied with spoiler this year. They have virtually no shot at the playoffs due to three losses.
This game is only about putting a dent in our season. I imagine that hurts for a fan base that always sees themselves as superior

The real conundrum is that if they beat us, it actually helps us
We get to rest, we get a weak opponent at home to start the playoffs
We get to avoid a needless bruising game against a tough opponent in Atlanta
Outside of their trash talk there is zero negative for us

There is a negative. It’s a loss to a team that has no logical reason to win. I remember the early nineties. We had their number when I was at A&M. But A&M has never had a team this much better either …

This is my favorite Ole Sarge line so far.
You can tell he is actively preparing for the loss- 0.0 confidence his Ags win in Austin- and equivocating it away as actually a good thing.

A loss has its perks, More rest for key players.
I'd love to win the SEC, but this season and the expanded playoff in general has made me realize that the conference championship game has become less desirable.
