You notice I didn't say a word about Menzie. He's very good, but I don't think he's AA level, either. It's not necessarily a "If not x, then y" choice. I'm sure there was a CB in the 118 other D1 schools that merited AA status.
But, I do love how if a Bama fan supports their guy, they are blind homers. But, all LSU fans are dispassionate, objective renderers of fact.

TM7 is an elite player, but not an elite CB. His coverage skills are average. But, credit to Chavis and the defensive coaching staff. They have taken a kid with elite instincts and quickness and put him in positions where he can excel. (It doesn't hurt when you do have the best cover CB in college football on the field at the same time to take away the other teams biggest threat.)
I do think that TM7's weed episode played some part and may have cost him some votes. Remember, coaches are very conservative by nature and control freaks. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them held it against TM7 that he got himself suspended and let his team down.
I'm not even going to sit here and argue about TM7 as a corner, even though he's a very good one. But please, PLEASE explain to me how a guy who had 1 INT/0 FF all year playing corner made this list. That's a complete joke, and there's no defending that.
