would love the cliffs of the whole story if you have them, WestCoastAg.
This is the kid that went to Arizona from A&M and caused the stink last week about getting money from assts to give to recruits? if so, why is he booted now?

No he said he was given cash to help entertain recruits not to pass on to the recruits

yes. he released video from closed practices at A&M on his hudl account and there was some racist commentary (presumably from him) that was audible while watching the film. at the very least, there was probably a team vote at arizona and no one wanted to play with this clown.

cliff notes version of the story
- four-star linebacker, recruited by Sumlin, who enrolled at A&M in January 2017
- didn’t see PT
- new coaching staff arrived; said the team (Marchiol included) was soft
- Marchiol accused Fisher/his staff of using demeaning and vulgar language at players
- accused training staff of mishandling an ankle injury
- Marchiol said he witnessed behavior that made him uncomfortable, including an assistant coach giving him cash to host top recruits on"unofficial" visits
- decided he’d transfer to ASU and play for Sumlin
Well whaddya know ....
quote:
Convinced that he needed a fresh start, Marchiol faced a choice if he was going to play at another top-level school: He could transfer quietly and per NCAA rules sit out a year before returning to the field, but that would mean a lost year of college eligibility because he already had redshirted a season. Or he could seek a waiver from the NCAA, which this year approved a policy change that allows transfers to play immediately if there were “documented mitigating circumstances that are outside student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete.”
- Many A&M players have publicly said the kid is full of crap
- Bottom line: He didn’t want to sit out a year, so he tried to circumvent the system
AFTER making the allegations last week, a video clip of A&M’s spring game was unearthed in which an unidentified voice on a Hudl account—listed to Marchiol—refers to African American A&M players as “monkeys.”
In the video, his mother—laughing—asks who was wearing No. 26 and carrying the ball. In response, the voice answered, "Uh, yeah, one of those monkeys," as Marchiol tackles a black player. Immediately after that exchange, mama Marchiol says, "Oh my God, you got him again," as another clip shows Marchiol making a tackle.
Video went viral last week, but has since been deleted.

marchiol is a linebacker from the denver area who finished high school at IMG
he committed to A&M back during the 2017 cycle under sumlin
he didnt play any last year because of injury but would have been in the two deep this upcoming year
he randomly decided to transfer to arizona to play with sumlin after going through all of spring ball at A&M
under a new NCAA rule, he could play immediately at arizona this year if there is a documented allegation of shite going on at A&M that would cause him to want to leave. basically, kids are now given incentives to "tell" on their old schools
so last week, he gave all of the details to dan woken who wrote a huge article. it claims multiple things, the most serious of which that we forced him to practice and run sprints on a visibly broken ankle and that we gave him money as a stipend when hosting recruits on unofficial visits. none of these claims are all too damaging but we obviously dont want the NCAA sniffing around the program looking to find something
over the weekend, marchiol posted a highlight video on his personal hudl account that contains clips of his performance during a closed scrimmage at A&M this spring
if that wasnt shitty enough, he for whatever reason posted the video as if he was watching it on a computer screen with his mom. as he made a tackle on a black player, you could hear his mom ask who he was tackling and he responded with "i dont know, one of those monkeys" and they both laughed
he caught a lot of shite for that obviously and has now been kicked off the team at arizona and im assuming the video was the cause of it

This didn't work out for Marchiol, but he won't be the last transferring player to make unsubstantiated claims against his former school to receive a waiver from the NCAA. They have to tighten up this rule or the sport is just asking for this kind of thing.
It would be nice if the media started treating these cases with a little more skepticism in the absence of any documentation, given the motives behind the claims. But I'm not holding my breath about that.
