There are some many things wrong with this statement that I'm just going to laugh at how asinine it is and then laugh more when you think you've "won".

wrong answer,.
HA! This coming from a British kid who has watched a grand total of 3 years of college football. I've watched 3 season of Fringe. Guess that makes me an expert on all sciences according to your logic.

again wrong answer. Many are former players and were involved with an NFL franchise in some capacity.
Here comes this dumbass again

no again you're wrong. Inside sources that are used in articles and quoted.
You do realize that "anonymous source" is code word for "I made this shite up and just hope it sticks and if it doesn't I can blame my so called source for bad info", right?
I'll go out on a limb and say no.

I sure am looking forward to draft day. I have alot of your stupid posts to give a bump too.
I will be right here waiting for all these guys you've been touting to fall. Hell I'll make a thread exclusively for your failures.

You do realize that no team in the NFL runs the West Coast scheme to a t right? You do realize that it has basically become an outdated broad term to describe many different offenses currently used in football, right?
I'm going to guess no.
Hell you probably don't even know what the originally West Coast Offense was, but I'm sure you'll try to google it and pass it off as you knowing it.

I don't think your stipulation will make a difference so I'll agree to it, even though I don't know why it matters if a team trades up to pick him in the first round.
If adam can have a stipulation in the avatar bet, I really think you should consider adding a clause regarding something that is not a known factor right now.
Like say, a failed weed or cocaine test result is leaked, or a sexual assault claim that somehow got swept under the rug, but mysteriously comes to light just a day or two before the draft.
It's just as plausible and as much of a deal-breaker as a team trading back into the first round.

You should not make such silly claims if you do not want them to bite you in the arse later. I could pull up some of your claims on the MSB board as well. We should get some MSB'ers in this discussion
can you please complain elsewhere?

I'd assume he'd sit behind Hasselbeck for a couple years, and when he took over the offense would be tailored more to his strengths.
He might be a tall dude, but he has a pretty good 3-5 step drop, a quick release, and the ability to squeeze the ball into tight spots.

I like the idea, but a bet has been entered into already. If any new info like that was going to be released, I think it would have happened by now.
Plus, I think Mallett's character and what not is just part of the bet anyways.

I hear ya.
Just saying that rumors and day-before-leaks are totally different animals.
Example: there were already "character concerns" about Randy Moss, but that didn't prevent every mock draft or every insider from slotting him within the top 5 picks. Then just before the draft, there was a report he failed a weed test, and the day of the draft multiple anonymous team sources were quoted as saying he is off their boards. He dropped to the 21st pick. A Mallett sexual assault leak might drop him to the 2nd day considering the Big Ben scandal is still fresh.
Just don't want you to be blind-sided.

Thanks. I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope such a situation doesn't happen. If it does, so be it, I'll change my avatar for a few months, no biggie.
Adammwilson, here's a sneak peak at what COULD be your avatar come April 28th (this is not my final choice)....

If I were you I would ask Freek if he would do the Avi for you that one is lacking in power. It just says doublewide with cardboard covering the windows is all I am saying.
If he is #1 the Avi needs to be major good.

If Mallett does go #1, it would be awesome for LSUFreek to make an avatar for adammwilson.
BTW, adammwilson, you really have no clue as evidenced by this article I just came across.
quote:
Panther's coach Ron Rivera told Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer Sunday that the Panthers are still considering roughly eight players to take with the first pick. That list includes three quarterbacks, including Ryan Mallett of Arkansas.
NBC Sports article
Edit: The NBC page cuts the article for some reason. Here's the full one: LINK

Can't even acknowledge that the Panthers head coach himself contradicted your assertion that no way Panthers were looking at Mallett for the #1 pick? And then you post a tweet from some dude I've never heard of as your retort?

have you ever followed the draft before? Coaches lie all the time about players. Why would they take a guy #1 overall who is widely seen as a 2nd round player

Peter King is arguably the most respected football writer in the country. He works for SI and other than Adam Schefter has the best sources around.

If you can't see that Rivera is clearly not seriously considering Mallett with the 1st pick despite the fact nobody thinks he is a top 20 pick idk what to tell you. I'm not going to change your mind so we will wait until the draft.

Perception v Reality, my friend. Your perception of Mallett, influenced by your bias, sees what it wants to. You latch on to all the negative aspects of Mallett's game, you put too much stock into alleged off the field issues, and you give to much credit to the "experts" and their mock drafts (especially the ones that line up with your pre-existing bias).
Reality is, Mallett is in fact a 1st round QB.

Rivera said himself, 3 days ago, that Carolina is looking at 8 players for their first pick. 3 of those players are QB's, and Mallett is one of those QB's. I don't know how it could be any more clear or anymore straight from the horses mouth. You have a serious case of denial.
It's okay to admit you were wrong on this one.
