I can understand A&M not wanting it as much because they play in the SEC West, but it seems like they shouldn't just kill it.

Hey man, they just played UTEP - University of Texas El Paso - or as Aggies might say tuep. :)

How many have y'all won since scholly limitations? How many have y'all won in the modern era? Congrats on those leather helmet victories when we were a small, all-male military school. Hook em!!!

They must teach you guys this rant in Fish school. I've heard it repeated so many times. Is there another school in which you make this excuse? Rice, TCU, Baylor, Tech? Or does it apply only to the one who has historically dominated the Aggies. You should be proud of your history instead of using it as a handicap. You are what you are and you were what you were. It only took A&M 70-80 years to discover women and civilians. Don't blame that on Texas.

Not our rivals. Not giant public tier 1 flagships.

I, for one, would be embarrassed to lose to a tiny little military college at all, and I certainly wouldn't be puffing out my bird chest over leather-helmet era victories. But like I said, that's all you've got.

Congrats on running up the score on a glorified division 2 school. Cause that's what a&m was prior to the late 70s. That would be like us keeping track of our all time record against Sam Houston or SFA. Fact is the all time record is very equal ever since the playing fi,eld was made equal and you could no longer have teams with double the amount of players

And for those at home who want to know how equal its been since scholarship limitations where imposed in 1975. We have a 19-18 advantage including a span of 10 wins in 11 years

A&M has modernized and become more like UT - let girls in school, corps no longer mandatory, teaches some liberal arts, etc. Texas did not mandate these handicaps - A&M wanted it that way - embrace your history and just admit the truth. Ask yourself why so many good players chose Texas over A&M during those unlimited scholarship days. The plain truth is that you were "Aggies" and you still hold on to some of those archaic traditions today.

Must suck to know that they had about a century advantage over poor aggy as a major public university, but we caught up to them in about 40 years of being one

As I pointed out, we were a glorified division 2 school that didn't have anywhere near the resources you had. Plus we were an all male military college. People chose you over us in 1959 for the same reason why people choose us over SFA today

If you knew anything about Texas politics, you'd know that isn't true. Why do you think it took so long for us to get a law school?

Now, using psuedo-military glory is the ultimate excuse - you think former UT students didn't fight in and die in wars? You realize that DKR stadium is a war memorial to those who died in WWI ?

Tell that to our 8 congressional medal of honor winners from that era

Carswell
Fowler
Harrell
Hughes
Keathley
Leonard
Whiteley
Sasser

Tell that to west point and annapolis, who produced fewer officers combined than A&M in WWII

No one's saying that.

No one's ever mistaken y'all for a military academy, either.

No one's talking about DKKKR. Irrelevant.

Also, scoreboard there.

If you were a man during that era, all it took to get into A&M was filling out an admission application. The military academies were never about volume and to this day are very hard to gain admittance. But, having said this, I commend those who went on to serve after their college days.

The point is, sip, you went to A&M to be groomed for service in the armed forces, not to dominate the football scene.

And as a current military member and son of a retired military Aggie former student, frick your backhanded copout of a "compliment."
