I think OU would lose a lot of its talent if they ever left Texas. They'd still be a solid program, though.

We don't need 5 or more national title contenders in the conference

Like I said earlier, this just makes LSU have to travel farther. Any addition should be in the state of Texas. I would veto any other move if I was LSU.

Why not be farther west? LSU is the farthest there is.
Fayetteville?

OU has legit athletes, they would be fine.
too bad texas doesnt have legit athletes.....they would not be fine...
top 5 preseason last year and finish 5-7 in big 12.

surely they make a bowl this year, i'm thinking 8-4.

If you're ever gonna join the SEC, do it now A&M. I'm hoping their addition will make it possible for LSU to not play Florida every year.

In all honesty I think if Texas were to join the PAC-12 and OU were to join the SEC that OU would start to get more talent out of the state of Texas.

Wildthing why don't you make some statements and predictions that actually come true and then and only then can you come back and talk crap about Hawgalude, ok?
second, I would be all for OU joining the league but hate to tell you that they would lose 2-3 games a year every year if they were hanging out in the SEC West consisting of LSU, Arkansas, and Bama. Just the way it is. All three will be in the top 10 this season and when we meet Alabama for our game, both Arkansas and Alabama will be ranked in the top 10.

I thought we were the only team west of the river. Wrong or not, look at a map showing how far away LSU is from everyone. Adding teams to the east really isn't fair.

OU's roster is over 50% Texas kids as it is. Why would a move to the SEC make it any different?
Posted on 7/18/11 at 11:01 pm to Henry Jones Jr
If A&M comes, they'd do best if they could block OU from coming. OU is like a third major Texas program. They're probably more popular in north Texas than A&M.

Are you sure you are an LSU fan?
If you are, then you really suck at geography.

OU is superior to the flagship in every way. Please don't respond to me. Ever.

Agreed, the addition of the SEC only makes it a better recruit selling point.
I'm not saying they'll out recruit Texas because then again USC still brings in great classes.
But Any Football Program that joins the conference would see vast improvements.
If this does happen and say Pac-12 expands to 14 as well as the Big 10 etc Do we see another BCS bowl and the ability to have 3 from a conference?

I was guessing more of the state's top talent would choose OU over UT because they would want to play SEC ball. I knew OU had a lot of Texas kids but not that many. Thanks for educating me.

LSU isn't west of the River. Where did you come from and why are you pretending to be an LSU fan?

Dude, the entire state of Arkansas is west of the river

I have no idea where Fayetville (sp) is located in Arkansas. Either way, LSU has to travel very far for all it's road games. My point stands that expansion should be to the west.
