how the frick was his forward progress not stopped? Besides the fact that the ball crossed the plane.

I'm not sure that the ball broke the plane, but forward progress was sure as hell stopped.

The refs may not all be an abortion, one of them did call the forward progress stopped.

Reminds me of Bucky Richardson at TCU in 1991. That game is known for "the hit," but Bucky threw an interception, and then went airborne with a form tackle to knock the guy out of bounds.
