The main reason I don't watch those pregame shows anymore. Manti Tao ruined it for everyone.

I agree. Immediate channel change when that maudlin crap comes on. It’s not so much that I don’t empathize with the player; more that I loathe cheap poorly done work that tries to exploit my empathy.
