That is just plain ignorant!
what is ignorant is both my in-laws went to Ole Miss, and my brother-in law went to MSU. i also used to work w/ a bunch people that went to both schools, including Rhonda and Mark Keenum. i agree that Ole Miss portrays a bad image w/ James Meredith and the Rebel Flag, but that is because they are the flagship university to a state that has an ugly past, as do a lot of deep south states including SC. Ole Miss has an identity outside of the state (both good and bad), Miss. State doesn't. it's been my experience that Miss State alumni that I come across in the MS Delta, who are usually farmers, are pretty damn racist too. not all, but some. it makes sense that Miss St has the largest minority % in the SEC, because it is the largest University in the state w/ the highest % of minorities. MSU needs to be careful stirring up this racial divide against Ole Miss because Starkville's Dawgnation isn't some progressive utopia.

Thats because there are two groups going at each other in these videos. The billboard war is basically USM vs MSU. OM hasnt put up a single billboard meant to attack another school.

Yeah, this flame by state fans is about as played out as calling LSU fans "corndogs"...
Add to that "gumps", "boogs", "Arkansas is in the Big XII", "jorts" and so forth.
The Rant needs some new material.

That's because you don't have our billboard skills.

and just think, James Meredith chose to go to Ole Miss knowing all of the crap that was going to happen. he must thought Miss. State would have been worst. MSU wasn't integrated until 3 years after Ole Miss.
I don't know about his feelings about State, but it is well documented that he was terrified of Southern Miss.

You sure he wasn't a senator?
The racist outburst on Nov. 30 by former Mississippi senator Brad Lott would have sent shock waves regardless of where it had occurred or who had screamed the words. That the tirade came from a prominent Mississippian during an Ole Miss football game at the Oxford campus made the incident all the more disturbing.
I googled his name and found this on the first link.
He was probably a state senator, which is about as important as being on a school board.

That video reminds me of watching the Ole Miss vs. Valparaiso basketball game on ESPN classic. The announcer made a comment about the Ole Miss coach having to convince a boy's mother from Texas to allow him to go to Ole Miss. They said the coach was having to fight the negative image of Ole Miss when recruiting. This was in the late 90s too.
It's still true to this day.
So many times when reading recruiting interviews on Scout or Rivals, you hear the players say something like "Ole Miss wasn't at all what I was expecting." They honestly say that more often than not. It raises the question as to what exactly it was that they were expecting?
I can't remember who it was (I think it was Coach O), but one of our former coaches once commented about recruiting that his #1 goal was just to get the player to visit, saying that once they visited, we had a good shot at getting them to sign. He said that the hardest part of recruiting to Ole Miss was simply getting the player to agree to a visit due largely to preconceived notions.
There's a perception about Ole Miss which, in 2012, is overwhelmingly untrue and frankly unfair. But that's our onus to bear, I suppose.

Electronic cigarettes are superior to actual cigarettes in every way.

Because they (erroneously) think they're funny.

f I remember correctly- Meredith wanted to be a lawyer- the law school is at Ole Miss
the guy that integrated MSU is 1965 wanted to be a doctor, and MSU didn't have a med school. the reason Meredith integrated OM rather than MSU was that a NAACP/Civil Rights Movement strategy breakdown the Mississippi white establishment university. They weren't looking for the easy route, but the most symbolic. MSU would not have gotten the same attention nationally, or from the Governor's direct involvement. It was ugly, but it paved the way other southern schools. Alabama took a little Federal intervention to integrate in 1963, but USC and Clemson were both peacefully integrated that same year. MSU probably took a little longer to integrate because there wasn't the big push from the NAACP after they successfully integrated Ole Miss. Integration pilgrims like James Meredith weren't excited to be trailblazers to integrate schools. They were pawns for national organizations that were being run from out of state. So, they had to get support from Washington to integrate these schools before sending in the students so they could be protected.

Some people may have forgotten, but I won't forget Ole Miss turning us into the NCAA in 2001 and the probation that followed. Any of that mess this time will have repercussions. State won't just stand by and let things lime that just happen this time around
