A Live Bear : This Has Got To Happen

It will make the transition easier IMHO. It would be so cool to have a live bear habitat near the stadium. Fans (especially kids) would LOVE this.

Screw PETA. This could actually make people more aware and sympathetic about conservation.

I think that would be great. I like live mascots. I have always thought we should have a live Bear and put a houndstooth hat on him. Auburn has about 9 mascots I don't see why everyone else can't.

Won't happen. Our school won't spend a couple thousand on a parking lot or a locker room under the stadium. Why would they spend millions on the upkeep on a live animal? Just don't see that happening.

Maybe some rich donors will step up and do this.
I hate all of this to no end. But a live bear is much better than a foam-headed one.

as ridiculous as it is for you to be the bears this crossed my mind too. a live bear on campus would be cool.

I doubt. There are a lot of pissed off alum right now. I called my old office up at Ole Miss yesterday. I asked how the whole day was going. They said it was awful. Said they were getting flooded with emails and phone calls from pissed off alums. Hell Sparky wasn't even accepting phone calls yesterday. You know it's bad when he steps out of the office for the day. There are more people pissed about this than happy I'm sure.

They could go to NC/TN during bear hunting season a capture one or ask national/state park in southeast region that is going to destroy a problem bear and that could appease some of the animal cruelty people. Hell, it's real easy to keep a bear, they could get multiple bears for a lot cheaper than Mike. Only problem is the bears would dissappear into their cave during bowl season, hey that would match with Ole Miss though.
