Honestly? I think Bama can be lumped in with OU, Penn St, Oregon, UGA, Minnesota and Utah right now as a team that could easily get caught off guard by the right team with the right QB on the right night. LSU, OSU and Clemson don’t fall into that category.

It’s about who is the best team, not necessarily who has best resume. You can have one without the other contrary to popular belief.

Yeah, that could be true when the teams are evenly matched. But LSU imposed their will on Bama at their home stadium (never relinquished lead, answered emphatically whenever Bama scored). LSU was clearly the better team, and would would beat Bama 4-2 (being as generous as possible) in a seven game series.

Then why should LSU play in the SECCG and risk injury? Why even have a conf champ game? Give LSU an automatic bid and let us rest and heal for the playoffs.

They are not. Got shitstomped at home by LSU. Dude LSU dominated your defense. At no point in that game did LSU have a chance to lose. Bama played catch-up the entire game. The team you saw Saturday, is going to be better come the playoff. If Bama makes it in, they will face a better more healthy version of LSU.
