Why?
There have only been 10 RB selected in the top 10 of the NFL draft since 2000. The highest RB selected was Reggie Bush at #2 overall to the Saints. The average pick for the first RB taken in the draft since the year 2000 is #10 overall.
Lattimore would need to have a a record breaking season, prove that he's fully recovered from knee surgery, and run a sub 4.4 at the combine to go #2 overall.
I don't think he'll be the first RB taken. RBs are trending down. Unlike previous highly picked RBs like Richardson and Bush, Lattimore will not be splitting nearly as many carries with his backups and will take another beating. NFL teams are very aware of that and don't like spending big money on a guy who probably won't last 5 years in the league because of the pounding he's already taken in college.

Who would have thunk DE/OLB's from WVU,Syracuse and Boise would be picked before Upshaw ?

And this guy might not even be drafted in the first round. Much less at #15 overall. He's 5'7 on a good day and struggles against bigger, physical receivers.

Agree with all that (Latt).
I'm also skeptical of Latt's production the upcoming season. He's a guy that was already only averaging 5 yds a carry. Now he has a major injury to overcome, not an easy thing to do for any RB. Pulling for him, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Ronnie Brown 2005 #2 pick overall.
By the way I believe Lattimore will be splitting carries plenty this year. Although I will agree #2 may be to high for Latti.

He just hasn't gotten it up yet.
I'm pretty sure that's by design.
His best asset is the speed rush off the edge. The coaches don't want to slow him down by adding on a bunch of weight where he loses his best ability. Remember, he was only a true SO last year with only one year of off-season conditioning under his belt.

2. Marcus Lattimore RB USCe
4. Jarvis Jones OLB Georgia
10. Sam Montgomery DE/OLB LSU
12. Jonathan Banks DB Mississippi State
15. Tyrann Matthieu DB LSU
17. Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas
27. Christine Michael RB Texas A&M
I RA'd.

Are you serious? Because as an NFL team you don't waste that high a pick on a RB who was severely injured already and on top of that isn't quite THAT good to begin with.

No doubt Upshaw's misfortune a blessing, my point was these early lists are wack.
A better example is the Illini wideout their offense was awful and the QB was the among nation's worst behind the undynamic dou at PSU & LSU.
Who among us knew about him, not me and I saw them play my squad every year

Who?
Some possibilities:
Barrett Jones
DJ Fluker
Robert Lester
CJ Mosely
Nico Johnson
Jesse Williams
I'd say at least 3 of those go first round. Also, Chance Warmack will likely be the first OG taken - although first round is a stretch.

Barret Jones will be on the bubble all everything Stanford guard DeCastro went late to the Steelers

Hopefully teams will try and throw on us more this year due to losing Dre and Menzie...give Lester a chance to drive up his stock with a bunch of picks like in '10.
