Good evening, everyone! Here are the results from the Week 7 Power Rankings polls. The two boards had mostly the same pecking order, but switched UK/LSU and Auburn/SCAR in their respective spots. Tennessee unsurprisingly took the #2 spot from Alabama, but Georgia maintained a comfortable lead for the #1 spot in terms of average rank.

COMMUNITY COMMENTS OF THE WEEK

quote:

Tennessee. Ended 16 years of pain and suffering. We get to (hopefully) rest up a bit against UT-Martin.

quote:

Bama. Not great outside of Bryce Young. Hopefully a wake up call that they can’t continue to sleep walk through the season playing sloppy football and expect to win anything important.

quote:

Auburn. continued to suck. hopefully Harsin loses to bye by getting fired

quote:

Off weak for Georgia as they prepare for Florida. Georgia needs to stay focused on Florida and not be distracted by the Vols as they jump up and down looking for attention.

quote:

Kentucky. Kentucky looked good against a solid Miss St team. Defense came to play, absolutely shutting down that explosive offense. Chris Rodriguez ran for 196 yards and is 8th in the SEC in rushing with only three games played this year. This is a completely different team when Levis plays, from the play calling to the players around him. We have a much needed bye coming up to get healthy and gameplan for Tennessee on the road. The Cats will have nothing to lose and will try to turn it into an ugly gritty game.

quote:

Kansas. Our defense sucks arse and gave up 701 yards in a 52-42 L despite our backup QB playing decent again. We play Baylor on the road next. We need one more win this year to go bowling. Pray for us please. Thank you.

quote:

LSU, offense came alive to beat Florida 45-35 on the road. Ole Miss coming to town hoping to spoil their perfect season.

Ole Miss: Ran up the score on Auburn at home. Our next game is easily the toughest game we've played all season - LSU in Baton Rouge. Ole Miss will need to play better on defense and continue dominating the line of scrimmage on offense if we are to win this game. Give me the Rebs in a close one.

quote:

Arkansas plays bye this week, I expect bye to forfeit giving the Hogs a much needed week off.

quote:

Florida's defense is the worst I have ever seen it. I know that the new coaching staff said it would get worse before it got better but my god. That was probably one of Florida's all time worst games on defense. Ever. At least in the top 5. Now a bye week to prepare mentally for the fricking prison rape that UGA is going to carry out in Jax.

quote:

UGA - we’re gonna beat the shite out of bye week - hopefully Kirby is doing everything he can to wash the RAT POISON out of our guy’s heads - WLOCP on deck - we need to stay focused on the Gators and just playing our game

quote:

Woe is Misery: With a no decision vs Bye, the same questions remain. Do we have a quarterback? Will Sam Horn finally see the field? Is Tyler Macon still alive? Hard to say, but this years Homecoming features the Battle for the Bottom. This may well be the turning point of the season, but damned if I know which way. Losing to Vanderbilt was the last straw for Barry Odom. If Drinkwitz wants to salvage anything from this season it begins here.

quote:

The Aggies did not play last week, but I’m pretty sure they lost in tragic and humiliating fashion regardless. This season has been so frustrating, beating your cock always helps release frustration though Thanks South Carolina

quote:

Alabama lost to Tennessee for the first time in 15 years, 52-49. Bryce Young returned from injury and put up huge numbers but in the end it wasn't enough. Next up is a home game against Mississippi State where the Tide will look to either correct the ship or fall apart.

quote:

Alabama. We got beat by Tenner. We have gone from one of the most disciplined team's to the most undisciplined within 2 years. Bill O’Brien and Pete Golding are the pretty much the same person just on opposite side of the ball. They are both so arrogant about their scheme, they refuse to adjust to what is obvious to everyone. Golding keeps running 30 yard stunts, and delayed blitzes that never get get to the QB. Then puts our best pass rushers in coverage, and allows a safety to be matched up 1 on 1 with their best WR. BoB calls a halfback draw that absolutely killed a drive. Calls 3 straight pass plays to leave time on the clock for UTk to make a game winning drive. He never adjust or schemes people open. He can't get plays in on time. To sum it up our 2 coordinators do not know how to adjust or they are too arrogant to. I can't wait for them both to leave. Miss St is next. Saban has done well against Leach and we definitely have more talent but who knows how the team will respond after such a let down. I could see us blowing them out or playing another sloppy game where it comes down to the wire and either team wins.

I don't expect to go undefeated or win a NC this year...but it sure is nice to be back in the conversation.
