I don't know about all that. The Joe Burrow LSU team was possibly the best of all time. The Alabama team the year before that was one of their best teams. The Georgia team in the Rose Bowl was probably their best team in decades.

Not making excuses, those were just some damn good teams.

He makes a good point here.

So far we know that OU has competed well against one elite SEC team, Georgia.
Competed badly against two elite SEC teams, one being an all-time great team, the Joe Burrow led LSU.

I think we’re not that far off, to be honest.

A Baker Mayfield led Oklahoma team struggled to beat an average Tennessee team in double overtime in 2015.

The last time Oklahoma played A&M (2013), they were blown out in the Cotton Bowl

OU always looks shocked in the first quarter when playing those SEC elite team.

Oklahoma's problem is they've never really figured out how to make their offenses work against most SEC defenses. They're used to winning shootouts in the Big 12. This isn't an Oklahoma, specific, issue either. It seems to be a theme with Big 12 schools and schools like Oregon in the early 10s

I think it is a bad reflection on the SEC that those schools didn't show up. The reality is that those teams were loaded with guys getting ready for the NFL Draft and once their goal of playing for a Natty was gone they DGAS. I would prefer they had more pride.

I also don't blame Texas or OU. They showed up and played hard and won.

My point is that Texas and OU have no other wins of note in the last decade. OU gave UGA a game in one Playoff but still lost and they got blasted in their other appearances. Texas even less. All of their big wins are in the Big 12 or playing in lower tier bowl games.

OU beat Ohio St in the shoe.

It’s not OU’s fault other big name teams have been bad.

It was Baker’s first year at OU. OU’s worst team with Baker. Bad example.

Nick Saban said Oklahoma is the hardest offense to prepare for. What does he know eh?

If it takes the best of the SEC TO BEAT OU, then it tells us we’re close.

He had 3700 yards 36 TDs and 7 INTs and made the CFP, what a dreadful season

Nick Saban has glowing compliments about literally every team he plays

IDK, maybe you have a better explanation why Oklahoma hasn't been able to win on the big stage the past 20 years

Oklahoma has been down 28-0 and 35-7 in the 2nd quarter of consecutive semifinals against SEC teams

This will just be another two week stretch for them once they join the league.

You are correct. As the fifth best program in the league you aren't really a doormat - more like a doorman. Always letting others into the penthouse while having to change buses three times to get back home.

Nick says shite like that before every opponent his team faces. How he can hype up Tennessee every year with a straight face is a miracle

2019 Peach Bowl recap with LSU and new SEC member Oklahoma

Gonna be fun destroying your team more often not. Keep living in the past. Then after we drill you I’ll continually bring it up for years.

Agree to a certain extent. Bama cared about the Sugar Bowl, but their game plan was to show the QB’s abilities for the NFL, which led to their loss. Auburn cared about Sugar Bowl.

But apparently those games don’t count. SEC logic

Why do you think Oklahoma will consistently beat LSU?

Fortunately, OU has stepped up their recruiting. 2022 and 2023 classes are looking incredible right now. Grinch has already elevated the defense. We’ll do just fine in the SEC

ND? I believe we returned the favor. Unless, that also doesn’t count

Baseless speculation unsupported by evidence.

That's ironic coming a program who has won one title in 36 years, with the last being more than two decades ago. Boy, you sure showed the OP.

Their offense was and has been fine. Recruiting on offensive side of ball is even better if that’s possible. As long as defense continues to improve we’ll have gotten over the hump if we haven’t already this year.

Ohio st and Notre Dame on the road were decisive wins for OU. We should make believers out of people this year.

Anytime you want to make a bet on that let me know. Plus we’ll have a couple more recruiting classes under our belt. We will rarely go worse than 10-2. Book mark it.
