Reality? I’ll tell you the reality. This topic has legs because there is a lot of truth in it.
Alabama fans like to cite 2011 as the year they broke the LSU fan base. That’s 100% valid in my opinion even if a lot of LSU fans would rather not take that viewpoint. It’s at least a plausible argument that I’d grant Alabama fans.
But that being said, throughout Bama’s entire, ridiculous dynastic run, they never produced a team as decorated or statistically dominant over a quality schedule as 2019 LSU.
That LSU team got LSU’s respect back and made Alabama fans completely sick with envy over the one thing they didn’t have. The best season and arguably the best team in the history of college football.
That’s why they try so hard to push 2020 as a GOAT even though rosters were decimated, stadiums were empty , and the “title” opponent was an 8 win team.
Sorry but no one’s taking 2020 Bama or a non-SEC Champ/National champ as seriously as that LSU team. And that includes bullying TCU for a title.
2020 Alabama was so much better than 2019 LSU that LSU fans have to pretend the entire season didn't happen because if they get stuck up in the numbers, they get their asses handed to them.
And for the record, 1995 Nebraska is the GOAT. 2020 Alabama lost it's chance for such a title when it beat Florida by only 6 points.
2019 LSU however lost it's chance when it only beat Texas by 7, Alabama by 5, and Auburn by 3. Also when your "GOAT" team gave up 38 points to a 3-9 Vandy team.

Just look how angry they all get.
But please, Updykes. Tell us more about the amazing 2011 Bama team that lost at home to LSU and the 2020 squad that played in front of all those hostile cardboard cut outs.

This is true. Mac Jones >>>>>> Burrow it was so obvious. This is the reason everyone in the media and across the nation always talks about 2020 Alabama.

If it's so easy to play in front of cardboard cut outs, then why didn't LSU win? Are you trying to claim Alabama was playing in front of them, but the other teams were not?
Can you explain to me how such a thing is an advantage for 1 team but not the other?
And how many of the 38 points LSU got it's arse kicked by do you think your fanbase would have made up for?
You're just another example of an LSU fan who has to live in a fantasy world rather than deal with reality.

You are the prime example of the Bama fan that is a jackass! You and your ilk should be placed in an internment camp.

Bama ( and Georgia) Fans are just so jealous that the 2019 LSU team was so likable. Just unlimited swag.
All three teams listed in the original post or some of the most boring teams I’ve ever seen in my life

The fact you are naming individuals over the team effort is in itself telling.
At any rate, Mac Jones did in fact set the single season records for passing efficiency(Beating Joe Burrows 2019 performance) and completion %(beating Colt McCoy's short yard passing of 2008).
And he did it against 100% P5 teams, no cupcakes.
I would say this has a good bit to do with the receivers, because you know - team sport.

You are just jealous that anyone other than Bama is getting talked about as the GOAT team. It is ok you can let it go, y’all still have 20 titles or so I’ve heard.

LSU fan finds seasons where his team is good and not trying to use covid to avoid games like a bitch more entertaining.
This is a surprising development. I'm going to notify the others.

Alabama is not the GOAT, 1995 Nebraska is. 2020 Alabama > 2019 LSU though.
And contrary to what LSU fans who think college football started in the year 2000 think, the discussion started long before 2019. Before 1995 Nebraska, it was 1971 Nebraska.

Are we talking about why LSU didn’t beat Bama in 2020 or whether or not 2020 Bama is an actual GOAT candidate? It’s the latter. 2020 Bama was vastly more talented than 2020 LSU. But they were not slaying a GOAT schedule.
I know you guys aren’t big readers, but try and keep up.

2020 Alabama - 13 P5 opponents, including the top11 teams from the toughest conference in the country. The only team in history to play a schedule of this caliber.
2019 LSU - 11 P5 opponents.

You think all those white baws on defense for Nebraska in 1995 would stand a fricking chance covering anyone for 2019 LSU or 2020 Bama?
Posted on 8/7/24 at 12:09 pm to 3down10
Honestly I’d take 2019 BAMA over 2020 bama. Offense and defense.
And guess what?? LSU beat that bama team in Tuscaloosa.

You can't compare teams across generations like this.
Who's rules are we playing by? If you want to play by 1995 rules, 2019 or 2020 Alabama would be playing their 3rd string players by the 2nd half. If you play by modern rules, 1995 Nebraska will probably have the majority of it's team ejected by halftime.
What you can do is compare the teams and how they dominated the competition they were against. And when it comes to that, the closest anyone came to beating 1995 Nebraska was 14 points. Nebraska would go on and play undefeated #2 Florida(with a heisman winning QB) in the bowl game and destroyed them 62-24.
They started the year #1(after winning the previous NC) on a 11 game winning streak and dominated everyone.
2019 LSU on the other hand barely beat Texas by 7(barely finished ranked in 1 poll, not the other), Alabama by 5(also lost to Auburn), and Auburn by 3.
In fact, those 3 games combined come to a MOV of only 15 points compared to 1995 Nebraska's 1 game of 14.
So it's not 2019 LSU.
2020 Alabama only beat Florida by 6. So it's not 2020 Alabama either. Came close, but came up short because of Kyle Pitts.

Do you mean that 21-0 beatdown in New Orleans and that 55-17 azz kicking in BR? Good times.

I didn't fact check your Alabama statement but I know for sure this is incorrect.
As usual.
