it's really embarrassing when you have 2 outs, a runner on second that is taking a two step lead and you're still throwing over to first and when you already have warm arms in the bullpen and a fresh pitcher

a lot of players wear them. it's a hand guard so players don't hurt their fingers sliding head first. (they also give them a longer reach)

I don't even think this pitcher coming in is warmed up. They showed him throwing from 50 feet in the pen.
