f he's playing then something has gone wrong. There was talk of moving him to corner but I think at the moment he's still a safety. I'd much rather see Shawn Williams in the game than Hamilton.
I thought he was gonna be a starter day 1 last year. I guess hes another one, rivals and scout fooled us with

Me too. It's not like we fricked up though, everybody wanted this guy. He was a top 5 JUCO in America and it came down to us and bama. I think he was just wildly overrated.

to be fair i think this has been said with just about every running back richt has signed...only for them to eventually go by the wayside...richt has made georgia the place running backs go to die
ETA except the two years richt HEAVILY leaned on Moreno to carry the load

Like who? This is the highest rated back Richt has ever signed. Caleb was the #1 RB as a junior but tore his leg to hell while he was still in high school, that's not his or Richt's fault. Lumpkin was rated very highly and had a nice little career when he was healthy. Thomas Brown was an under the radar guy that had a very good career. Knowshon was a 4* that was one of the best RBs we've ever had.
Tell me what other "best running back" in the country we've signed that didn't do shite.

Fwiw, Brown was like the number 4 RB in the country. Just saying

You're right, I didn't necessarily mean under the radar like he was a walk on or anything. He was a 4* but he didn't have half the hype that Crowell had.

so the fact that he is rated 2 or 3 positions higher means that he will defy the laws of statistical probability? maybe...but we're just talking in generalities at this point. to answer your question since richt got to georgia he has recruited 15 running backs who were rated in the top 25 at their position for their respective years...how many of those went on to rush for 1000 yards in any single year??

Nobody is talking about defying stats. You said nearly every RB richt has signed has "gone by the wayside", whatever you want that to mean. I disagreed.

How many were rated as highly as Crowell?

Crowell is the highest rated running back we have had in the Rich era that has a legit opportunity to make an impact. I'm sick of youtube vids I wanna see what he can do 'tween the hedges!

only 3 have even surpassed the 800 yard mark..i'd say the other 12 have "gone by the wayside"

depending on what service 7 of them were ranked in the top 10. you can't say they weren't as good for 100% certain because they were all in different classes and there is subjectivity in recruiting ranking anyway. you keep saying this because he was ranked #1 by some services but fwiw there were several that were ranked 2,3, or 4

How many other than Moreno were a "featured" back? Every year Richt runs a platoon of backs, Ware, Lumpkin, Brown;, Brown, Moreno; King, Samuel, Moreno;, etc

Name another rb (aside from Caleb who is running on 1.5 legs) that UGA has recruited that got as much hype as Crowell has?

Moreno and Musa Smith are the only feature backs we've had in the last 10 years. We usually run a gang of 2 or 3 so anyone surpassing 1000 would be super impressive.

I'm not reading all this but is anyone saying Crowell is going to be the next Herschel?

So three Heisman trophies for Crowell then???
