I think we lose 2 games to Tennessee and Carolina, maybe lose to Florida but I don't think we will

I have Georgia at 8 or 9 wins, mostly due to the defense improving but with some uncertainty at OL and RB possibly holding you back. That also counts on T. King stepping up to be a leading receiver.

legit prediction give or take one regular season win?

9-3 with the 'within 1' clause. I think 10-2. Out of Boise, SC, UT, and UF I think we could slip up twice. I think our chances at a loss in order from most likely to least likely are:

SC
Boise
UT
UF

I highly doubt we lose all 4.

I admit the east teams are harder to predict because of the parity we saw last year.

But yall really are that confident against Florida? I mean I know yall have more reason to expect improvement than them, but when the WLOCP kicks off I'm just not sure that matters.

It's a lot like GT and UGA. No matter what kind of season we're having, there's a mental block in our head that makes it hard to beat yall. In this scenario yall are GT and UF is UGA.

Ha, yeah I understood the analogy.

I understand our recent struggles, but when you get down to it it's just gonna be 11 on 11 on a Saturday afternoon in October of 2011. What happened last year or 5 years or 10 or 20 years ago doesn't mean shite. I think we're a better football team than them, so I think we'll win.

I think we made strides against them last year despite the OT loss. Murray was shaky in the beginning but showed he wasn't afraid to compete against UF. And, despite what some may think of Grantham's choking gesture, I think it helps the confidence of his players that he isn't afraid of UF either.

Mostly just a feeling that we'll do it

We should improve a lot, they might not improve at all. They have a first year ever head coach with new systems on both sides of the ball. And it's not like they were great last year. And they still have Brantley. I like our chances.

Right, but I think until you get over the Florida hump they should be higher than your 4th concern.

ETA: They are extremely talented, arguably the most so in the SEC. For Florida it just comes down to how their OL and skill players adapt to the new system, and with yalls game late in the season, time's on their side to get things figured out.

pretty much my thoughts exactly, only I think T. King is and will be the leading receiver we need. the question, however, is who will be a reliable #2 receiver? Sure, Orson Charles and Aron White are great, but we need a Green/Durham duo to succeed. Right now it is a mystery as to who will be that other guy

Not if there's better teams on the schedule, which there are.

Meh, you can say the same for us with our OL and WR crew as well.

Last year we were pretty dead even and went to OT. We should be a good bit better, they should be about the same or only slightly better. I give us the edge.

Whats the matter with you guys? This is Georgias best chance in a long time to have a breakout season - it all depends on the Boise State game. If you win it you're in the hunt.

eta - If you win the Boise State game you'll fly up the rankings and play inspired football.

I just don't think most believe 11-1 is probable.

Plus, inspired football =/= depth on the OL.

If Georgia wins 10 games, I will be shocked.

Why? Again, not saying we will, but it is not at all unbelievable to think we could win 10 games with this schedule and team. In fact, it's pretty easy to think it could happen. Doesn't mean it will, just saying a 2 loss season is very achievable

We won't be worse than last year. I expect that the offense will be sorted out by late October.

We'll know a lot after the LSU, Auburn, Bama gauntlet.

Because you haven't won more than 7 in the regular season since 08 and you have no proven receivers and very poor o-line depth. You are coming off a season with losses to Colorado, UCF, and Miss. St. You lose your best offensive and defensive players and have Mark Richt as your head coach. With Florida, South Carolina, @ Tennessee, Boise State, Mississippi State, and a rivalry game @GA Tech I can't see you winning 4 of those.

I will admit that the demise of Fulmer reminds me so much of what's going on in Athens that it's eery and that probably plays into my thoughts.

Georgia is my surprise team for 2011. Boise State doesn't have the horses on defense. All Georgia has to do is play SEC defense and use their new running back to keep the ball. Boise State man for man can't stand up to Georgia. If Georgia wins that one and gets lucky against USC or Miss State they can very easily win 11 games in the regular season.

not very poor. Just not ideal and not entirely proven. We'd be better off if Harmon were still here and Sturdivant wasn't hurt, but we'll get by. It's not 2003 all over again

You lose your best offensive and defensive players

Both that played positions that are very helpful to the succes of their respective units, but not vital. We can succeed without them.

The east is a two team conference this year - South Carolina and Georgia. USC has a tougher schedule - that leaves Georgia in the catbird seat if they can beat Boise State and Miss State.

eta - Georgia can lose to South Carolina and still win the east.
