You may have the worst starting QB to ever win a BCS title and you claim to be the best team. He may turn out to be alright but right now he is the worst with probaly the has the worst performance in the title game.
That's not even close to being accurate. McElroy completed 198 of 325 passes (61%), threw for over 2,500 yards, 17 touchdowns and only 4 Interceptions. His QB rating was 140.5. He might not have been a prolific passer... but he was a GREAT game manager, and he never put us in a situation to lose a ballgame. When you have Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson in the same back field, you really don't need a QB to pass for 5,000 yards in order to be successful.

You guys wouldn't have even won the national title with McCoy playing and now you're among the best teams ever?
lol......

Proof? Our defense didn't give up more than 24 points all season. Colt McCoy didn't play defense. We put up 31 offensive points and rushed for over 200 yards against the nations #1 rush defense.

No it won't be.
This Bama team is one of the weaker MNC teams of the BCS era.
People will remember the lackluster MNCG performance with no Colt McCoy.

I think they're a good team but they escaped against Tenn. at home; and Tenn was not very good this year.
And this year overall in CFB was down. Texas was not very good this year, and UF was much better last year.
A great season but not one of the best teams ever IMO

We put up 31 offensive points.
The defense was directly responsible for 14 of them, which came because Texas was playing a true freshman.
Did you even watch the game?

You guys were on the verge of getting Utah'd.....we all know this.
As for your 31 points, a true freshmen QB who had taken a handful of snaps since high school put 21 on THE GREATEST DEFENSE IN THE SEC, so I'm pretty sure Texas was good for 35 with Colt and he would have limited your touches and forced bammer into throwing the ball. We saw how your passing game looked during the game.
This all goes without saying the first thing about the emotional blow the entire Texas team took from watching their best player get hurt 5 plays into the game.
It's just my opinion, but color me unimpressed with this particular national title team. Too many close calls against bad teams, and too much luck when you were on the verge of getting raped.

This makes about as much sense as a crap flavored lolly-pop. We have more first team All-Americans than any of those other teams, a Heisman winner (only one other BCS Champion had a Heisman winner to go along with their championship), a Butkus winner, a defense in the top 5 of every single major statistic, and an offense who put up over 30 points a game. But we're one of the weaker of the BCS era?

We went 14-0 and beat the #2, #3, and #10 ranked teams in the country, along with 2 other teams ranked in the top 25 and 10 total bowl teams.

It's really not worth debating with idiotic posts like this. Remember all those pre-season specials about this Florida team possibly being the "greatest team ever" and how they returned everyone on their D, and Tim Tebow? We whipped the shite out of that team. How about a Texas team that was 1 second away from having 2 straight undefeated seasons? We whipped their fricking asses. We went 14-0 which only a handful have ever done. We won the Heisman, Butkus, and have had the most All - Americans in CFB History. Our Head Coach is the best in the business, and our defensive coordinator is the best assistant coach in the business.
All that being said, I guess it doesn't really matter. We've got a BCS crystal ball now, and we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. So I say to the haters:

You guys are no better then the 2004 Auburn team.

Those awards you are mentioning are subjectively awarded. They are "awarded" by voters. Just because some voters decided that Mark Ingram was the best player in the country doesn't mean he actually is......I have a hard time thinking a guy who couldn't break the 32 yard mark against our run defense is the best running back, let alone the best player, in the country.
I don't think you can use subjective awards decided by voters as proof that your team was one of the best.
It was a nice season, a little sloppy at times, but still quite an accomplishment. There is no need to get greedy and overstate things.
Be content and not go too far.....

The Auburn '04 team was the greatest SEC team of all time. Nobody else is close. Maybe Auburn '83 is close, but that's it.

Not hating you won the MNC, but you guys are not even close to being the best ever.

The most overrated team in the last two decades. They played 4 teams all year that had winning records.

That same guy who only rushed for 30 yards against you guys ran for over 100 and 2 TDs against the #1 ranked rush defense in the country.
It all evens out.

Because of football......lol........no, you moron. I have a full life that doesn't revolve around kids playing a game.
I would never trade being an Auburn fan for anything else. We've had a hard time, there is no denying that. Yet, we have also had tremendous success in recent times.
The thing about being a sports fan is this: pulling for a team that success comes harder to makes you love that team even more. The passion Red Sox fans have comes because it was forged through years of adversity. It makes you a family and not just like other sports fan groups......
I can't explain it and don't expect you to understand, but when our efforts are finally rewarded, as they should have been in '83 and '04, it will be even sweeter to those of us who have steadfastly stuck by our team through all of the adversity and media screwings.

They are the only team from that season to play and beat 4 top ten teams.
You guys beat 3 teams with winning recorrds last year, but you would have celebrated just as hard as you are now if you had gone undefeated.
But our '04 team needs no defense.....that team was amazing and would beat this year's alabama team by at least 21 points. Probably 30 actually.
