That has always been a misleading stat to me. A lot of teams play a bend-but-don't-break style of D. on third down........

Clemson 10-15 bama 4-13

Honestly that kinda proves how close it could have been. Clemson had 2 60 yard plays on 3rd and long in the 1st half

Bama was a false start on the 1 yard line away from putting up 20 points in the 1st quarter

Probably so. It didn't look like Bama did much playing in the Clemson game. They just walked on the field and got whipped from start to finish. The refs didn't give them all those free plays and do overs like the sec refs.

Saban said State was the only team that tested them during the season. To which LSU fans quickly burned down the internet.

The game just got away from us. For whatever reason we didn't show up ready to play and Clemson did. They dominated us and we deserved every minute of that arse-kicking in the second half. Hopefully, the team has taken it as a learning experience. It sucks, but it seems at Alabama that you need to lose at least one game in the regular season to get these guys to play consistently excellent football down the stretch.

Makes sense seeing as how they got to rest the entire 4th quarter since Clemson had it for like 12 minutes.
