Ironically they were supposed to be make the SEC better in basketball.

I thought surely this was wrong, like 2002 when they beat UCLA in the sweet 16, but no, you are correct. 5 Elite 8 appearances, all losses.
I think they are the best team not named Tennessee to never make a final 4.
