Lay off the Beretta, mayne. I've owned a full size 92FS for a while-great gun.
My HK USP Compact shot left. I sold it before figuring out that its trigger pull is a little different than most i.e. it was me and not the gun. Otherwise, a great gun and I wish I had it back.
Just picked a 92FS compact (2 tone) and a Sig P938 (2 tone). Haven't shot them yet, but looking forward to it.

HK would be my brand of choice ( or Kimber ) but I need something that can point and click and go bang and drop a motherfricker if I need to for the cheap

Yup. A lot of the people I work with carry those as secondaries.
I've got a small semi auto. I just don't like revolvers.

I've got a Beneili Super V. That's it.
So, if a mallard decides to break in, he's fricked.

I can't wait to get the P938 to the range. A friend has a P238 and loves it.

I got my machete I carried for 8 years or the Glock for anyone that decides come a visit. The machete is also great for killing snakes....fricking hate snakes especially water moccasins. Aggressive evil bastards will chase your arse!

Beretta sucks.
Do you have small hands? On a more positive note I have found that if you can shoot an 92FS you can shoot anything.

Y'all seem to be experts.
I have a Remington model 1100 .12 gauge shotgun that I only use for bird hunting. I live in New Orleans near the Irish Channel, so I obviously keep it for protection too. With that said, I'm looking to buy a pistol this summer because, obviously, sidearms are better for home defense when compared to a shotgun in terms of accessibility and portability.
I'll be in the $400 - $700 price range. I want something dependable and effective.
Suggestions?
