Not sure. It was hilarious though.

I was a pondering intensely on the drive home and really think we haven't seen what CHF offense can do without a legitimate rushing attack. If you think about it, even in games we won last year I never got the thought we were in control and I think it is because we got behind in down & distance on 1st or 2nd down too often. The frequent culprit was gaining minimal yardage on rushing plays.
So even though everyone is interested in the QB battle I personally think getting the Oline up to speed is probably the most important thing coming out this Spring....which would make the new QB's transition easier!

Watch for Eric Swinney. Dude will be a beast in the backfield.

What? We saw this last year:
We need to see what his offense can do w/ a barely adequate run game. RB's at least look the part right now. I don't think we know what we have until the oline gets healthy and back on the practice field. Can't imagine they would be worse.

Eric Swinney's running style reminds me a lot of T.J. Yeldon

Swinney told DJ tonight that he's bulked up to 198 lbs.

What I was trying to say and FUBARed was if they have a legitimate rushing threat then the offense will really click and be able to play with tempo as well. The whole goal is to put the defense in the "horns of a dilemma" & make them reactive vs proactive. Will they have to stack the box to stop the run or drop +7 into coverage type scenarios. Ole Miss couldn't last year because there wasn't much, if any, running threat and they didn't consistently have the time to drop back & stretch the field without giving up a sack. Plus tempo wasn't a realistic option because it may have lead to a quick 3 & out which wears out the Defense. So if Ole Miss is going to take the "next step" it doesn't necessarily need an All-American QB, though it would be really nice, but rather a serviceable QB coupled with a serviceable rushing attack (reference Auburn the past 2 years).

His game is eerily similar to Justin Vincent's

Or we could just take a page out of TCU's book and go 5 wide and spread the defense thin. That formation killed us. I hope the running game improves, but if not, let it fly.

You have to have a QB who you can trust to let it fly without a run game.
And TCU had a run game so five wide was that much more effective.
I think Freeze was saving Judd for this season. He's about to blow up.

Judd hasn't played in nearly two years. He definitely should be healthy.

Our run game last year was limited to giving the ball to the little RB and hope he gains 2 yards up the middle.
Repeat.
Third down - desperation throw into coverage and prayer.

Wat
We averaged 174/game in 2012 (5th in the conference) and 190/game in 2013 (7th in the conference)

I don't think his health was the full reason he redshirted. I really think Hugh knew he'd need a stronger run game this season to have success and figured he'd lean on the experience of Walton and Mathers last season instead of burning one of Judd's two years.
He's done this before when he redshirted Campbell and Ritter because he knew he'd need them more in his second year.

Despite averaging more yards in 2013, I think our run game wS stronger in 2012. Scott/Mackey were just better runners than Walton/Mathers.
Though, I think Walton is just as explosive as Scott. But Mathers was a huge step down from Mackey.

Also, a huge thing for our running game in 2014 was its uncanny ability to disappear whenever the other team took the lead.
When we were losing by 1 - 7 points, we went 45 carries for 102 yards and a paltry 2.3 YPC.

Looks like our OL has degraded and we really miss Scott.
