Some of the Wake students took to filling up food trays with rain water and tossing them on people, including females. They ended getting absolutely throttled

Sorry but I just don't see any zip on RB ball plus it flutters and dies off as it gets to the Recievers. MGK & Switch send it on a line and the Recievers have to be ready for it or it will get past them.

Brain will win over release and zip in the end....but yea, I agree with you.

To me, that's all we need. Someone whose arm is stronger than Bo's and who LIMITS THE GOT DANG TURNOVERS.
Just keep in mind that there is no reward without risk. Maybe Wallace/Snead turnover rates were a mindset built on risk vs reward.

Of course there is no reward via risk.
Quit justifying Bo's 58 career turnovers in 39 starts. There is no justification for that sort of egregious turnover rate, especially considering the fact that he only managed 23 more TDs than turnovers in those 39 starts.
A 1.4:1.0 touchdown to turnover ratio is bad, no matter how you slice it.

If Conyers beats out Ben Still for the starting job does that mean we will be able to run easier between the tackles?
If Conyers wins the job that has to mean the coaches really like what we have at both tackle positions right?
Does this mean we might actually have a decent O line?
If we do will we still bitch about Matt Luke?

How well did Conyers play last year compared to Still?

All I'll say is this: I bet they love who they have at left tackle.
Fahn Cooper is a solid SEC starter. He isn't great, but he is solid.

That's what I keep saying.
They don't have to be great. All they have to be is good enough to consistently get us 185.0 plus yards per game on the ground for our aerial attack, no matter the quarterback, to be effective.
Anything above 200.0 yards on the ground would just be icing on the cake.
CBS Sports rankings of our OL in terms of professional potential
LT: Laremy Tunsil - #2 overall tackle, #4 overall, projected first rounder
LG: Aaron Morris - #11 overall guard, #192 overall, projected fifth to sixth rounder
RT: Fahn Cooper - #25 overall tackle, #313 overall, projected seventh rounder to free agent

Absolutely.
We have the most experienced offensive line in the SEC. This should be one of our team's strongest units.

If Conyers starts at center then our OL is much better than last year. All your assumptions are accurate. For that to happen, Conyers has to be better than Still, which would be great, AND Christian is going to have to be as good as Conyers is as a backup tackle. I doubt both of those things are true because that would be too nice. Same deal with the QB competition. It would be lovely if Chad stood head and shoulders over Ryan and took the job by game 1 but we all know that is too good to be true

How do you figure?
Posted on 8/11/15 at 2:52 pm to Tornado Alley
Because we would have enough solid depth to justify that Conyers could move full time to center and Everyone thinks that Conyers is better at run blocking and pass blocking than still is.
Posted on 8/11/15 at 2:52 pm to Tornado Alley
Well it would mean a 13 game starter is being replaced by someone who is better. One would think at the very least it would improve some in that case.

He was in on every scoring drive against MSU. Our offense outside of his first start (LSU) was more productive with him in there and he only got better as the year went on. He was the only guy blocking anything in the TCU game.

This is a fair assumption if you believe the coaches development of players is as important or more important as having talent or even the "right" players. This will be Luke's first OL where he has players he recruited as upperclassmen, and even they are just true juniors. If the depth chart stays the same then 3 of the 5 starters arent even his guys so how can you blame him unless you believe more in development. I think Bell sucks, but I do believe he has gotten better each year. Still isnt very good, but he got better as the year went on. So if you are upset at development, how developed are 2*s suppose to be?
The next argument would be, "well, his guys should beat out the 2*s". This is the first year where his guys wouldnt have to beat out an upperclassmen starter as a freshman. Tough task for anyone

Conyers starts at center.
Taylor starts in front of Aaron Morris and never reliquishes the starting position.
Patterson takes over the other guard position.
Luke's guys will take over 3 spots. Tunsil and Cooper are Luke's guys. So by the 3rd game all 5 starter will have been recruited by Luke.
The 1b's will consist of:
Christian Morris-LT
Aaron Morris-LG
Ben Still-C
Justin Bell-RG
Sean Rawlings-RT
Not a bad 2nd set of offensive linemen. 3 experienced former starters and two tackles with a lot of length and athleticism.

I don't think Morris will lose his spot. I could see Taylor playing the other guard spot and taking Bell spot to get the best 5 on the field.

Bell lost his spot and is a swing player at guard and center I believe......Morris will start with a Taylor if healthy
