I'll tell you this one thing if all the kids in MS grew liking and playing soccer into let's say High School maybe College we wouldn't be the fattest state in the Union. That's a fact.

Oh I don't have a problem with it at all. Played soccer growing up and me and friends would go to the fields and play after school after football season ended.
I'm just saying that it's irritating how soccer fans claim that it is cultured.
Tell me, how is it more cultured than say, baseball, basketball or American football?
Soccer fans are some of the most violent and least cultured people in the world.

Wrong. You could say that about any sport. Not just soccer.

Ok I understand that sentiment I was more or less saying the opposite of that ... that a lot of Americans no like it or against because its foreign.
I'm sure tongue in cheeck but example a:

It's not I meant that since he was able to see past the American stereotype of it I was then gaining more culture.

So do I and most of the British & EPL but it still happens just like it does in Basketball ... I see it there just as much sometimes.
quote:quote:Wrong. You could say that about any sport. Not just soccer.

I have to disagree with you on this matter. Only basketball offers the constant running that soccer does and even then it's a smaller playing surface and you are allowed to sit on the bench and rest.
Football you need endurance but also rewards beefing up or getting as big as you can and in case of the lineman they at times don't have to run more than ten yards at a time. Plus they sit half the game.
Baseball ... I really don't have to explain this that much. First as many know its more of a mental game and yes you need to be athletic but also you can be the laziest SOB in sports and still excel.
In soccer gaining size isn't as important and the running/conditioning for the sport is greater that all the big three IMO so I believe as a whole if everyone, let's say USA was a soccer nation we would be significantly less obese.

You lose the jury when you compare the drama of soccer players (my beef with the game also) to baseball players..

1) I compared the conditioning of soccer and baseball not the drama.
2) I think you meant basketball and if you did, I'm sorry but I disagree. Basketball isn't as bad as soccer but flopping happens in it A LOT AS WELL.

Yeah once you hit the majors, conditioning takes the back seat unless you're an outfielder, shortstop or catcher. In high school in college though, they run your dicks off.
