He and TC are the best tacklers on the team. Do want on field.

Their coverage skills must improve but I agree. It looked like the second half of the season that our secondary regressed.

From everything I've read it just seems like the coaches are expecting Swinney to come in and play immediately. We only have 2 proven game ready RBs on the roster. We got pretty lucky with the lack of injuries at RB last year too. However, this is all just speculation

I don't want CJ Johnson at LB. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to play the position. You could see it on his tape coming out of HS. He also struggled shedding blocks. Ole Miss fans have always been infatuated with seeing this happen. I just don't think it is a good move.

agreed. he played very well 3 years ago and the injury did not help. I think he should stick at DE.

Also, I am expecting doe big things from Haynes this year. He will have the chance to get stronger this offseason and if he can keep his speed or improve it that would be scary

What I don't get is how Issac Gross hasn't gained weight in 3 years. Man, that dude would be a monster at 280 instead of 250.

Dude he's fine the way he is... in case you've forgotten... HE WAS A FRESHMAN ALL AMERICAN.

Doesn't need to gain weight he's perfect as our nose tackle. So much quickness.

Yeah, but if you go back and watch film, he gets blown off the line and pushed back when the lineman actually get their hands on him.

Doesn't matter. Have you not seen the GIF of him vs Texas 3 seasons ago?

3 seasons ago. Yea he was a beast but I agree a little weight couldn't hurt. I mean I would like my nose tackle to be huge like Po or Peña was and take up space forcing the RB to the outside so our corners and LB could do something.

Isaac Gross is a great compliment to RN in the middle. RN draws the double team on the inside and Isaac penetrates into the backfield.

So, I went back and watched some highlights of Zedtick Woods' senior year.

I was impressed. He should fit the huskie position perfectly. Best thing about him, great instincts for the ball. Second best thing, excellent tackler. Third best thing, can cover well enough to play safety and does a good job of reading the QB.

You think they'd move Connors back to a traditional Safety role (ie. replace Prewitt)?

Not with Chief Brown and CJ Hampton both healthy. There would be no need to.

Not to mention Hilton as well who can play anywhere in the secondary. I look for him to be one of the leaders on defense this year.

I see Hilton being able to move back to safety, with Elston, Chief Brown and CJ Hampton.

With Bridges, Shepard, Webster, Carlos Davis, K. Moore and D. Jones at the corners.

Conner, Cheif Brown, AJ Moore and DK Buford playing the Huskie.

Hilton probably has the most experience and knowledge of the defense and can make the calls in the secondary. The fact he is a good tackler allows him to assist in the run game and his coverage skills help when he needs to pick up the TE.

Ideally, I think D. Jones would be a good candidate to move to safety. His length would be helpful against the hail mary passing attack of Auburn, or any of those other lets hope we can get lucky offenses.

These are much better problems to have now than in the past, when we didn't have 6 quality players for the whole secondary. Getting 6 usually consisted of having players convert over from offense.

Yeah I've changed my thought on Hilton at CB... He makes a very strong argument on FS...

Good coverage skills
Best open field tackler on team
Veteran leadership and experience
Very football smart
