Who are returning starters this fall? Who do y'all count and not count as starters? By my math, we have between 17-20 returning players with starting experience.

QB - Bo
RB - Walton/Mathers
WR - Laquon, Sanders...did Quincy start in Sanders's absence last year?
TE - Engram
OL - Tunsil, Morris...do Bell and Golson have any starts under their belts? I know they each have extensive playing time.

DE - Johnson, Thompson
DT - Gross, Rob Nkemdiche
LB - Bird, Denzel, DT
CB - Senquez, Jones....can only really list two here, but Hilton has starting experience, right?
Husky - Conner
Safety - Prewitt, Elston


I'm just trying to get an idea of how experienced our team is. It looks solid to me. Honestly, I'm just sick of hearing how much State returns and how fricked we are, so I thought if actually look at what we have coming back and I was pleasantly surprised.



Depth-wise we'll have:

QB - DK, Buch
RB - Brazz, Wilkins, Dodson
WR - Quincy, Collins Moore, Cody Core, Mireles...Bledsoe? Pack and Harris will be here this fall. Depth here is a little scary.
TE - Ward, Epps, Parker
OL - Bell, Golson, Still, Conyers, Bouldin, Johnson...Cooper and Taylor will be here this summer. That's 10 solid contributors, but 3 freshmen and a JUCO. They need to gel quickly.

DE - Haynes, Fadol, Bennett...Speaks, McDowell and Evans will be here this fall.
DT - Big Herb, Woody Hamilton, Hooks...any more?
LB - Russell, Lewis, Strong...Ray Ray Smith?
CB - Teeeeeeeee Shepaaaarrrd thinks he'll be here this summer...Webster will be here this fall. Kailo has looked promising this spring here. Standifer is back and one of you said he's added "physicality" to his size...hopefully that means he's gonna play better.
Husky - Chief has moved here to back up Tony...who else will play Husky?
Safety - Hampton, Alford...I'd bet whichever of the Moore twins is projected at Safety will play some.


Let me know anyone I've missed. It's early and I'm just spit-balling off the top of my head. This post was heavily inspired by a thread on tRant asking UF fans what all they returned and it got my wheels spinning regarding our returns. Looking at it, I can see why the coaches seem more at ease this spring than the past two seasons. We have an SEC level 2-deep at nearly every position. That feels pretty good.

Here's praying we stay healthy.


ETA - I'm a little worried that we've heard NOTHING about Bledsoe or Ray Ray Smith so far this spring. It's not like I expected them to be stars as RS Freshmen, but I had hoped they'd provide solid depth, at least. Maybe they're just covered up by other players right now.

Also, anyone seen anything further about Frigo maybe cracking the 2-deep? Having a walk-on OL do that would be SUPER.

And anything out of the 6'8" walk-on TE Jameel Best?

So basically we have a shite-ton of starter-quality guys returning. I like it.

I thought Bell was a starter last year, but just couldn't remember. I knew he played a shite ton, regardless.

I was also fairly certain Chief had a few starts.

So sweet. I think all of those guys we have with starting XP are quality guys, too, and weren't just started because we had no one else. That's promising.

I'm anxious for Freeze to let us know whether or not we get an actual game for the Grove Bowl this year or not.

Still don't think we have the depth to do an actual game yet.
