Those catholic girls schools in Louisville really are an incubator for national volleyball talent. Dunbar (a high school in LEX) was on the front page of the sports section for their volleyball team. The Louisville sisters (1 on the Penn State team that won the NC and the other a frosh at Louisville) are further proof the area is producing national talent at the high school level. Was not sure if Belle had taught any when they were young?

Ole Miss had about 30 - 40 in their tailgate group before the match which was a bit surreal with all the folks camping for blocks around for BBM tickets. Good fellowship and frosty beverages pre game was a welcome perk indeed. There is no AC in Memorial where the games are played so once you get to a certain crowd level the place turns into a sweat box.

As for the game it was a lopsided event and UK swept 3-0 but it was to be expected with Ole Miss near the bottom in volleyball and UK near the top in the SEC. Not sure if you are aware but Vanderbilt is the only SEC school without a volleyball team so Ole Miss can recruit in that footprint and all the way up to Louisville. The bigger issue is with TAMU and Missouri on the other side of Oxford it will be harder to build up a real contender.

The big winners tho may have been the younger male population in attendance as both sides were assets to their respective schools.
