Agreed. I think we will beat LSU just because I think we matchup very well against them and it'll be at the Vaught. You never know though, anything can happen

That's realistic, but to say you will beat someone based solely on the fact that you played them close last year would make you look foolish. Not you, just speaking in generalities.

What if someone says they will beat a team the next season after that team beat them by 4+ TDs and the game was out of hand in the 2nd quarter the season before ?

I'd believe it, but rivalry games are whole different stories. See 2008 and 2009.

I think State will be an improved football team this year but it may not show in the W/L column cause their schedule is much tougher... This is Mullen's year to get that big signature win... Whether it's in Starkville against LSU or Bama or in College Station against aTm... Even the Okie State game... Gotta win 1 of those 4 or more people will start jumping on the Hud bandwagon.

In that case, I hope we lose all 4. But in all seriousness, I think this is the year the beat LSU. I'm gonna say that until we eventually beat them and I'm going to look like a genius.

I'd be happy with 4th in the West. While the rankings wouldn't reflect it, 4th in the SEC West should be top 10 in the nation, IMO.

It's been 50 years since the Rebels won the last of their six SEC titles and 51 since the last of three national championships.

"I don't know that in this league that's there's any of us, with the exception of a couple, that feel like 10, 11-win seasons every year are the norm, particularly where we are right now," Freeze said. "But I certainly think we should be knocking at the door of that from time to time.

I have 3 hopes for this team:

1. Beat Vandy

2. Finish 4th or better in the West

3. Break the losing streak in Starkville

If we accomplish those 3 things I think you see Ole Miss sign another top 10 class... There's no shame in finishing 4th behind Bama, aTm and LSU... Especially considering where this program was just a year and a half ago.

I feel the same way.
