As much as I would love to give him full credit -- and it makes me cringe -- Boone has a lot to do with this. When he took over (20 years ago? ) the AD was broke, the facilities were a joke, and so were the teams.

He got major donors involved with the school and got the place headed in the right direction.

I can agree with that. He just couldn't take it to the next level.

Just like I always said we needed Nutt for those two good years to turn us around from the train wreck we were. ..... Even though he turned around and made us a train wreck again haha

Did anyone disprove that rumor that he was headed to Alabama? I don't think y'all let him go just because of a number. Regardless, the man is doing one hell of a job - across the entire athletic spectrum.

I don't think he is going over there anytime soon. Maybe at a later date but not right now.

Alabama hiring Battle pretty much disproves the rumor IMHO.

I think that was just a hypothetical scenario brought up by some other fan base. Alabama hired Bill Battle as their new AD.

ETA: Didn't realize this was just posted.

In other news, Freeze and Bjork will be having a luncheon at The Butcher Shop in Cordova, TN April 26th. I just got an email about purchasing tickets.

That's where my husband proposed in front of both sets of our parents. This was the first time our parents met. He was brave.

I may get tickets. They are only $20 each.

Sounds like a pretty cool deal... Don't know if we're going to be able to make it.... It's the Friday night before Double Decker so I think we're gonna be in Oxford.
