First off its not like our university would ever support him again publicly, but that's only because we live in a PC world full of pussies. What he did is what the majority of people with money has done. The worst thing that man did was take money from tobacco companies and put it into Oxford and OM. Oh the horror
Exactly.

I love how in this world, if you have enough money, you can have or get away with pretty much anything you want (other than obvious stuff like murdering and raping and what not). That's how it should be, you should be able to buy anything you want if you have enough money, and I am not rich by any means. Dickie just fricked up and didn't pony up enough on his bribe, a mistake I'm sure he dearly regrets, but don't sit here and judge him when you have no idea what you would do in that situation or don't know how things work with the elite.

"don't know how things work with the elite"..give me a break..I could retire tomorrow at 45 if elite is defined by dollars in the bank but my financial status doesn't determine in my world if I'm elite. Character counts for some people no matter how much you make in salary or business. Right is right and wrong is wrong no matter if helps my alma mater, and I don't know any Reb grad that wants anything to do with Scruggs. Rationalize for him fine as I'm glad we received his donations too but don't be disillusioned enough to think that money should buy your way out of everything. I personally don't know anyone that would try to bribe a federal judge and that even includes my attorney friends.
