I think he coaching job was done when he ran Cox and a couple of other players off for Rhett Smith and Moody. It was an upgrade in talent it just took us a while to learn how to play together.

In my years at the university i complained about him under utilizing players, and making bad coaching decisions, when and where to call time outs or not.
He has truly impressed me this year. He could be the coach of the year in the SEC. ( Cal isn't coaching he just has 10 mcdonalds all Americans)
It all started this off season when he cleaned house, got rid of the scholarship players that were not giving 100% when they were down they hung their heads! he went JUCO and pulled in these 3-4 players. Mj Rhett, moody,newby, terrance
He has really developed Sebastian saiz and Dwight Colbey from where they were last year. If Sebastian continues to develop he could play at the next level easily.
And the installation and execution of the 2-3 zone mixed in with man2man, and the use of 1-3-1 has been outstanding.
Add that with his incredible record amount of wins in his first 9 years, in such a terrible facility as the tad pad... He's doing more with less than anyone in the country.
He has earned much respect from me this year.
Malik Newman would be a great coup, and Andy keep nerdy could have a ready made team for Newman to star on.
moody, Rhett, saiz, Colbey, Newman would be a solid starting 5. With newby off the bench. Not sure what year snoop and Perez are ..
The team would be lacking a true point guard so i guess moody would take that roll. Hopefully Ak grabs a great PG because that will be the missing piece next year

We won't be as deep next year, but we will a good deal of talent, especially if Coleby and Saiz can continue to prove that they are legitimate post players. Point guard will be the only questionable position

PF Saiz/Perez/Brutus
C Coleby/Saiz
Say what you want about AK but he's got an eye for talent as has always found under-recruited guys who can put the ball in the hoop. I think we can be a perennial tournament team once we're settled at the Pavilion

He did a great job of this tonight to neutralize crowd. Didn't call after shot but after he dribbled past half court and maybe a pass. Crowd quieted down big time.

This is considerably harder than you would think. Not very many coaches could get 10 CBB superstars to play together, take a cut in minutes and not be "the guy" without complaints. Guy earns his keep on the court as well as the recruiting trail.

Perez was unreal for ya'll tonight. That guy played out of his mind in the half court trap ya'll were doing and was MVP.

He needs to not act like a kid who dropped his piece of cake to get my respect. Complained the whole game and really irked me when he actively cheered a player who drew a technical.

If the situation was reversed and Perez threw Granger into the scorers table, Pearl would've been going bonkers. I really don't know how you could make that comment after the bench warnings and multiple times Bruce was almost T'd up. He bitched nonstop

We even have some cushion now to where 1 bad loss won't knock us out.

I am still not able to get excited yet. If we finish strong in the regular season, do well in the sec tournament and win our first round of the baca tournament then I will get excited.

It wasn't randy this year It was Oxford. He started the season super optimistic but after the WKU lost he said frick it and asked Dmagic to delete it.
