At what point should you and I stop being blamed for the transgressions of Ole Miss students and Mississippi politicians from the 1960s?

frick it. Let's carry their burden forever.

After you went straight to name calling I just wanted to poke you enough to see what else you would call me. I have 0 interest in busting out the computer for a Friday night debate.

I gave up when you didn't believe winning plays a major role in marketing and merchandising.

Seeing as I'm black, I'll let you handle that part.

That's what I figured. There are law offices every 100 yards in Baton Rouge. Growing up here can't hurt.

IDGAF what race you are.

At what point should all Ole Miss students have to stop paying for the sins of our forefathers?

2034?

Will it be okay then? Is that when we can let all of this stuff go away?

Wait, I have a better idea. LET'S NEVER frickING LET IT GO AND CONTINUALLY BRING IT UP?

Have you been discriminated against in any manner?

frick you, pussy. Pulling out the race card is a bitch move.

The Best thing for our school to do is to LEAVE IT ALONE and stop fricking with it. Thats when things gets talked about thats when it becomes an issue. Just ignore it. When a team neg recruits us with racism and that player visits you prove that other school wrong by showing them THAT YOU ARENT RACIST ANYMORE. Like someone else said leave it alone and stop apologizing

You just don't get it. I remember when they banned confederate flags at games. Do you think coaches are talking about how we ACTIVELY wave confederate flags at games? Of course not. Most under 30 don't remember it. 20 years from now that conversation is exactly what you said. They use to do this, they USE to do that. That only goes so far. It actually shows change that it is no longer being done. But if there are still issues to bring up that can easily be removed, if you are for winning why are you against removing those things?

And 20 years from now opposing coaches will jovially speak to recruits about how we used to be the Rebels and now we're the Black Bears.

As a law student, I hope that you one day learn to view things from the other perspective as well. It doesn't seem that you are trying to at all on this issue. There are two sides to every story. I'd challenge you to try to view this issue from the side of the individual who might find some things offensive.

You said, "At what point should you and I stop being blamed for the transgressions of Ole Miss students and Mississippi politicians from the 1960s?"

I simply said that I'm black which means those transgressions don't fall on my shoulders, sir.

As a law student, I know that there are much stronger factors besides "offense" behind the opposition.

That's strawman as frick, sorantable, if you're interested.

It's also outrageously true.

You are taking the changes way too personal. These changes aren't being made to piss you off. They aren't being made to punish anyone. This isn't being done to ask for forgiveness. This is being done to continue moving the university forward.

Are you not a Mississippian?

Are you excluded from the mistakes of our State's past based solely on your race?

We'll play this game.

I'm a white Mississippian, which means I take no responsibility for any crime committed by an African-American man in Mississippi during my lifetime.

Your logic is terrible.

I realize that no one specifically attempted to rustle my jimmies.

There's a difference in progression and revisionism.

The example has been played out throughout this thread: look at Germany. Realize it happened (none of which actually happened in my lifetime), don't do it again, move the frick on. No need to glamorize it.

show me where removing these things and winning are correlated and i will GLADLY give them up.

But since there is no way of doing that, it is my belief that using these things as reasons we are not winning are just excuses.

First of all, they're not Ole Miss students anymore; they're University of Mississippi Students.

All,

I am going to bed.

I will defend my position tirelessly, like any good attorney.

If you disagreed with me, you're wrong. Also, those that disagreed with me can blow me.

Sincerely,

TA
