We let Barber and Williams go(well not go but we didn't continue to recruit them when they started to waver) because Freeze puts so much faith in his assistants' talent evals he doesn't question boneheaded decisions like those.

losing all those elite linebackers and lineman didn't give you one but losing a position we don't even use correctly is going to be the last straw? Start listing all the talent we've missed and the inevitability of disappointment will deaden the loss

Tennessee has had a decommitment party today. 3 or 4 guys. I was reading the T boards. They seem to think Butch is looking elsewhere (Purdue). Some would like them to get Mullen.

Decommittments are the norm nationwide, but when you only have 10 to start with, it hurts a little more.

Dan Mullen would be a GREAT hire there. Fits that kind of weird culture they have. Would be at a school that kind of recruits itself. I think he'd do well.

With USC back on the map and this surge from Washington, not sure Oregon recruits itself. Little home grown talent and the cream of the west coast is scooped by USC.
And despite being exceptional with offense and QB's, Mullen approaches recruiting and the game in general from a defense first stance. Not sure he would be as good a fit as it initially appears. But who knows, for sure a flashy job to pass up.
