For some reason all week I've felt like today isn't going to be a good offensive day. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I think I called it. Guys were just going thru the motions. Lucky we didn't lose. Got a BS catch interference call that saved us.

Teams have film on Chad Kelly and what he likes to do. The game plan now is to play two high and force us to run or throw underneath. We are good at neither of those to this point.

Walton ran well though. We desperately need Tunsil back.

I'll just say we had an Alabama hangover and leave it at that. If I continue I'll get negative and that serves no purpose. At least we won. In recent years we might not have.

This. The last few years, everyone would crowd the box because of Bo's weak arm. Now they're giving us the dinks and dunks. We just have to get better at executing them.

This game feels like a loss. Disappointed in the team. You don't have to be energetic or up for a team to execute. Not a NC contender type performance. It happens, just would like to see more focus.

We had 100 plus yds in penalties. We kept their drives alive and killed ours. We really weren't that bad outside of 3rd downs.

Swag gotta take those underneath routes. One play he took a sack when Engram was wide open on a short cross. Might have been a 3rd down too. Regardless way too many flags. And when you get 7 downs inside the 5, you gotta put up 6, bro!

So it's the morning after and I still don't feel any better about that game. I think I need a pill.

I'm gonna rewatch this game, but I was surprised to see that the Landsharks did not get one turnover. Not to take anything away from anyone but, Denzel played one hell of a game.

The staff needs to dissect the film of this game and figure out how to negate the 2 deep cover shell and light a fire under the D for giving up the dink & dunk passes (which is what our offense should have been executing).

Hey, Vandy played a great game. Hats off to them. Mason runs a great defense, obvi. (They supposed to be SEC). They were able to create pressure with two deep safies. They kept it close with UGA and they sure kept it close with us.

This can't be said enough. Dude had like 20 tackles last night. Guy is a warrior for his size. Without him I think we lose last night

I think your observation of cover two is correct one. Kelly is going to over come this. Several areas of concern:

1. Kelly seems to have trouble seeing over the line at times
2. Kelly has tons of balls batted down (see 1)
3. Kelly is getting hit too often (OL and Kelly are reaponsible for this)
4. Kelly has started staring recievers down
5. Kelly has stopped going through progressions as well (see 3 and 4)
6. Teams are covering twoing him taking away deep pass (See all of above)
7. Beat cover two by running the ball and short intermediate passes (Cough)
8. Because Kelly is starting to get hit more....His accuracy has dipped quite a bit. He missed wide open recievers last night which were easy passes the first two games. Toughness comes into question but still early.

The good news is that all this can be fix.....but we now see how teams are going to defense us from thos point forward until we can prove we can beat it. Bama had success with it and Vandy did an even better job than Bama. Florida will watch the game and they will do the same thing. Cover two, hit the QB and stop the run with front 4. You beat it with intermediate passes, Engram and bubble screen feast. Which brings me to a question....

Why only one bubble screen yesterday? (BTW it got 9 yards and we did not run one screen to treadwell???????) Please correct me if I am wrong about that

I thought the OL did fine. I just felt Kelly kept looking for the deep route that wasn't there to be had.

I thought it sucked how we played Vandy. We played them as if they had some deep threat. Our physical CB's were no factor because they are having to play 10 yards off the ball.

I'm not sure about a screen to Treadwell. But we did attempt a screen (right side of the OL) to Walton on a 3rd down. I think it got batted down but I like the play call.

I think Swag came out thinking deep ball, get quick points, then rest.

We gonna bounce back against those silly gators. Happy bday, Hugh. And we unanimous #3 in the AP. Hotty Toddy!

This Florida game is huge on the grand scheme of things. A win leads us to a New Mexico State(bye) week of sorts. A win also allows us just to protect home and win one of the road games between Auburn and MSU. Beat Florida and you have a New Mexico State that we should win if Devante Kincade was the qb. Then a scrappy Memphis bunch. A&M at home, Auburn on the road, Arkansas at home and then a real bye week before finishing out at home against LSU and in Starkville. If we protect home, and beat Auburn chances are the Egg Bowl won't even matter.(assuming MSU losses another conference game, Bama or A&M)

Can we change the thread title already. Vandy took too much out of me on the game Saturday. Ready to see that 4-0 up there
