Breeland Speaks reported to Ole Miss Saturday at 6' 4", 304 pounds and looks in the best shape of his life.

Also this from a FL CB. I thought the quote in bold was interesting. Nice to see stuff like that every now and then:
quote:
Jalen Julius
For the Rebels, it’s Ole Miss recruiting coordinator Chris Kiffin who keeps in touch with Julius.
“Coach Kiffin, he’s cool. I talk to him a lot. They play Alabama and I don’t like Alabama. I want to beat Alabama. I’m tired of seeing them go to the championship,” he said.
Rounding out the top five is Florida, the school that could be in the best position with Julius right now. He’s already visited and he’s hoping to go back.
“I like Florida a lot. All the coaches are cool and I could just see myself playing at Florida,” he said.
“I already went to Florida but I want to go again. Hopefully I can go to Tennessee and Ole Miss.”

For sure Yancy'd. The 247 guys said something similar but I saw him at the D1 facility in Jackson and he's built much more like Tunsil than RN. Kid isn't any fatter than he was in HS at 270 but he's a long long long way from anything resembling a six pack. Doesn't matter though. He's not putting on bad weight, which is their point, but

I was excited about the defensive line after Saturday and that's without Speaks and McDowell.
I can't imagine having clean pants if Hooks and Ward could turn into contributors.

Teeeee Sheparrddddd...our secondary is gonna be as deep as it's ever been! Unfortunately I think this along with the depth at safety hurts us in our recruitment of Peters...but who knows. Prewitt will be gone.

Ha I'm pretty sure that's what he is referring to

Yeah, I re-read it after coffee. My bad. As for Peters, as the top player in the state, you have to think he isn't worried about not being able to play. That kid probably has the mindset of walking in a starting immediately. He is an athlete...and an 18 year old one, at that.

I could see us moving Tony Conner to a full-time S/LB position.
Also, I don't want kids who don't want to compete. He'd likely not be a starter for one year and then He, Hampton, and Webster would terrorize SEC receiving corps

Nah, CJ will never equate to a starting safety. Will be the John Youngblood on special teams though #terrorizing

Sarcasm, I'm sure.
I really hope we get Peters. #DBU. We'd have gotten the top player in the state 3 years in a row and the top safety in the state all three, as well.
He won't start immediately unless he can beat out Trae and Alford for a spot, but you really never know. He could.
I think Tony might end up at LB, but we'll see. He's like a Prewitt clone. Unless his coverage skills get much better, I see him moving from Husky to LB. However, he did make a sick PBU over Quincy in the spring game. I'd love it if that's just the first of many.

Chris Jones was the top recruit in state not Connor.

Not to take away from how awesome Peters is, but I think Leo will be the top player in-state once it's all said and done.
