I'm not understanding our recruitment of RB's. Why are we just offering scat backs and all-purpose backs? We need the big boys. We lost two RB's from the state of MS these last two years in Williams and Shumpert.

We have an offer out to WR KJ Hill from Ark. He's Will Gregg's best friend and he had 1200 yds receiving last year and 20 td's. He's very underrated. I hope we can get both of these guys.

Agree. Why do we not recruit big backs and why do we need 6 speed guys

You can never have enough speed. I would like to see our staff land a true "big back" like everyone else. However, most of us forget about some of the guys we have on campus that have the potential to be tough runners. Wilkins and Dodson could both fit that mold IMO. Not to mention the signing of Judd. These guys are unproven, but they have the frames to develop into tough backs.

I guess the staff has done a petty good job recruiting when people start forgetting about 4* running backs on the roster.

True. I've always considered him more of a speed guy based on what I've heard about him, but knowing that he's in that kind of shape excites me.

Our staff will have options at the position.

We have 6 RB's in our rotation and only one is a "scat back". And freeze didn't even recruit that one.

We didn't want Williams according to McCready

Those type backs fit their offense better than ours. If your fix to our short yardage problems is the same as every idiot who comments on CL articles, then maybe it's not that simple. We take the best backs available. If it were about size then we Nick Parker would get reps. Interior OL play is our issue, not the size of our RB's. Yes Jeff Scott and jalen are too small for short yardage. Dodson, mathers, and Wilkins arent. We went after at 240lbs RB in this past recruiting season. We aren't against big backs, they just have to be able to run fast too.

No just that it wasn't a good fit for either party. Aeris may end up being a stud, wouldn't shock me at all, but every time you accept a scholarship, you are taking a risk. We have plenty of RB's so why risk using a lot of time and resources on a kid who lives in a state area who doesn't ft your offense?

In case anyone forgot... We signed a RB 20 pounds heavier than Aeries in this class.

Our RB's weights in the fall should be...
Judd-230
Wilkins-220
Dodson- 205
Mathers-200
Walton-170

That's all based on Judd weighing in at 227 on the 24th, Dodson tweeting he's at 200lbs, and Wilkins being reported at 215lbs during the bowl practices

I think Jordan Wilkins is going to turn heads this spring if he stays healthy.

If he gets close to where he was pre-injury, Wilkins will be our next stud.

I think Judd comes in , blows up and becomes our feature back by November.

At least I'm praying he does.
