Positive outlook for Sawyers: He's from Nashville and was committed to Vandy first. He may not like UT. Does UT really have that much room? Another DT in this class would be nice to add to the group of McDowell, Speaks and Williams but it's not necessary, we're deep enough for the moment.

We suck at Defensive Ends. Probably not.

We need a big, space-eating DT. We need a Sawyers.

He committed to Vandy because UT didn't offer. He likes them a lot.

Isn't that what big Herb is supposed to be? I think we're set at DT. Sawyers would be a luxury.

A luxury most big schools typically have.

Also, there's no guarantee Herb delivers. You always need more than one option.

Even with a space eater you still need to have some level of a motor which I dont think Herb has. Sawyers, IMO, is more than a luxury seeing as how he could fill a role that we currently dont have.

Robert showed that he can do this in the Bowl game. He came in, demanded the double team, and isolated the other DL... from the second quarter on, our front 6/7 dominated and thats when our defense hit its stride.

I agree Sawyers is a different type of player. But we play in a 4 man front and don't have quite the demand for a NT like Bama. And I don't see how having a fatter run-stuffer like that compliments Rob on the inside, but having such a player does add versatility.

I don't think our elementary football minds can comprehend what specific needs we have so I just trust in the coaches. It's obvious we missed on a tackle and MLB. It's obvious we wanted another DE but would only take an elite one like Andrew Williams otherwise, we are set there. Wommack is so versatile that I think we are simply trying to land the best players available and them just make it work. Maybe in the future after Freeze has all his guys, we will recruit like Bama and UGA do an only take a certain number of players at a position, but right now I think we are just trying to get the best players available. We lose three DT next year and then our starters for the next two years the year after that. We brought in one DT that will be here in 2016 last year. We need a lot of DT's in this class

Sounds like Freeze can't evaluate talent and just takes as many stars as he can. They're likely pre madonnas as well

Probably not hard workers. I like my players to be grinders, not attention whores. #grindin4mystate

Right, cause he just got lucky with Evan Ingram. At aboyjoe looked pretty good. I mean like we only played 11 or 12 Freshmen.

They even pushed seniors out of the way for playing time.

Maybe, we would like to run more 3-4 defense, space eaters like Herb and Sawyers are key to that. This allows Speaks, RK, Liggins and Bennett to play DE and use our WSE as OLB's.

More DL recruits will give the defense the ability to play multiple defenses well and keep the offenses guessing.

We want all the 'croots, all the 'croots who want to be Rebels.
