Agreed. I guess my point is...YES SPS can be a bit ridiculous at times. It's under-moderated as well IMO.

But as far as a (single) school-centric board, it's as good as any you'll find for any team. Wool grows uncontrollably anywhere there is almost unanimous optimism. Humbling losses are the only adequate system of checks and balances...

"Facts?" Those were entirely subjective comments.

You just went 6-6 and almost went 5-7 with a loss to La Tech. You were clearly humbled by this when you predicted 10-2 for this season.

We sustained an inordinant amount of injuries to cause that fall to 7-6 also. Most years losing 3 OL starters and a QB 3 games into a season is a losing season for the 2 SEC schools in Mississippi

It's a testament to the talent we have and where our program is that we still went bowling after all that.

No it's more of a testament to where our and Kentucky's programs are right now, not to mention most of those players were back for the Eggbowl.

Right now? We've beaten you guys 5 of 7 and Kentucky 4 of 5. We will continue to dominante these two series, so it really has nothing to do with "right now"

1) Link to my prediction? I didn't predict 10-2. I, like most State fans, was @ 7-5 or 8-4, with toss-up games against Auburn, UGA, Arky on the road, and SC at home. I had 9-3 as ABSOLUTE BEST case scenario. Arky on the road was a pipe dream in hindsight, but it was logical to think we had a chance, given the result of 2010.

NO State fan anywhere would've predicted better than 7-5 by the end of the Auburn game week 2. We knew we couldn't afford injuries on the OL, and we had 2 starters go down against Au(plus 1 more in the first quarter vs LSU).

2) We can also play the "what if" game. If we were almost 5-7, we were damn sure also almost 8-4, with losses only to the SEC East champ, SEC West champ, National champ, and #6 Arky on the road. By the token we were "almost" 5-7, we also "almost" finished in the top 15 again.

We would've been humbled if we hadn't been bowling...IF we had actually lost the game to La Tech or OM...Maybe even if we had lost the bowl game with the piss poor way we played. There was mild letdown from last season, yes.

It was immediately followed by our best recruiting class(using your preferred Scout rankings) since 2002. We had 2 primary needs: an elite rushing DE to play immediately and JUCO OL. For the first time under Mullen, we nailed all of our needs in a class(on paper). We got the #2 JUCO C, a top 10 JUCO OT who was formerly the #1 HS athlete in Oregon, and the #1 JUCO DE Denico Autry.

We drop SC and UGA this year, to add home games with Tenn and A&M. Why would we not be optimistic about another likely 8 win regular season?

Making bold predictions on the outcome of future athletic contests between kids who are currently in high school is not exactly solid footing. Watch that you don't slip.

Sometimes I think you're mentally retarded.

We've both won 5 of the last 10. Before the last 3 seasons we had won 5 of the last 7. So actually it does have everything to do with "right now".

Coonass you predicted 10 wins once a week last summer. Don't act like you didn't.

Did anyone post that we got a 3star DB from Florida last night. Charles Williams

yes I did

As I've stated numerous times since- my gut tells me 9-3- but I'm going to step out there and say we get UPig this year also for 10-2.

Where you idiots go wrong is that you act like I say 10-2 every damn season and that couldnt be farther from the truth. I've had a pretty good pulse on the program- and it took a bunch of damn injuries to make me way off

I'm making predictions on the next 4 years based on what we have on campus and who is in control of our program vs the same for you guys. Right now, it's not even close
