You have to stop listening to these people like that video you posted.
They are hacks who get paid by keeping fans emotional. When things happen to any program fans get emotional both good and bad.
So these hacks know and post crap like this to raise their subs and make more money off emotional fans.
I stopped when the idiot on the left said OU was a shite show. Emotional display by him and facts don’t back it up.
Season was crappy but due to major injuries and a bad OC hire. BV gets blame for that but fired him. Rest of season is lost anyways.
Zac leaving is not a shite show. But these hacks have to play up fan emotions who have jaws open for every word these hacks say. These hacks get fans in this state by their constant drama making all year, for every little thing. Thats the hook. Now when something happens they have fans drugged by their so called “emergency podcast” lol.
Its all a game to these hacks. They don’t care about the program they care about dollars and how they can get the most dollars oit of fans pockets.
I’ve never once paid for content about OU. Not once. Occasionally I’ll listen to a free podcast but never paid. Some are decent but they all have pressure to get clicks to get paid. So to make podcasts they have to create or exaggerate stories/news to get those clicks. Thats all this one is. Screw them badmouthing our program like that.
There are a lot of bad fans and pressers out there who help destroy our name and hurt our recruiting. All for clicks.

It seems that way.
I still hope Brent can turn things and stabilize the program. I still think he has some dead weight on his staff that need let go.

I can see up to 3 O staff we can live without. For sure JFF needs to go. We din’t need him stepping on Arbuckle's toes so to speak. And he’s not a good TE coach either. Maybe the WR coach his room was not coached up.
Posted on 12/28/24 at 10:05 pm to OU Guy
Bingo.....WR and TE coaches and maybe one more. RB selection was horrible this year.

DM recruits well but is bad at gameday selection

The move doesn’t make sense. Defense loses, obviously, studs like Stutsman but overall going to be stronger next year. So you go to WVU to be “Coach in waiting” because that’s always worked out, just ask Will Mushcamp. This leaves two options 1) he knows BVs seat is hotter than a $2 pistol and is jumping ship for something more stable or 2) he’s a bitch

I think he messed up leaving. BV let him jump the line for his age/experience. And thats how he repays.
I do think it has a lot to do with being offered over market contract and for 3 years. But as good as defense was he would have had no problems getting a job even if BV is let go.
So to me it reeks of LR behavior. Young coach who doesn’t respect how he got there and took the bag over loyalty to the man who helped get him there. And did it while BV has to deal with not only the team but his wife dealing with cancer.
Better to lose him now. No one came here for him. They came for Brent.

I wondered how well they meshed. Must’ve been a weird dynamic with BV dealing with the Seth Littrell dumpster fire and offense just getting dunked on. He seemed to handle his business and for a young guy didn’t come across as arrogant or cocky. Behind the scenes I have no idea. I get the 3 years and it’s his old mentor with a good shot at replacing him, but as I mentioned earlier just felt his ceiling is higher than WVU.

Because he knows and worked with RR at WVU. So that plus a 3 year deal likely made him think it was a good springboard. And he can stamp his name on D without people saying its BV’s D (if he had stayed).
I just don’t like the timing and how he did it. Telling players he’s staying then bolt the next day.

Its not as messy as you say.
We vastly improved offense with new OC, new QB coach (which Seth ignored) and the top QB from portal. There are other great O additions. O will be greatly better and that in turn will help the D.
We lost a BV clone after 11 months. He recruited 0 players. Ant D players leaving has nothing to do with him leaving. Some see we have a great D with depth and want to go find a team with less depth where they can start all games and build their name. Thats NIL at work and nothing to do with OU.
BV is still here and our D will be better with some complimentary offense. Everyone wants to tear down the program and we have too many social media presser types who don’t care about OU rather only their clicks or subs.
They help manufacture drama to get eyes and clicks to pad their bank accounts. People read bad things more than good things (think car wrecks Lookie loos).
Then you have bandwagon social media fans who jump on twitter and because presser hacks claim doom and gloom they badmouth OU and say stupid shite (they feed off those so called OU experts).
When I was in Navy you always had made up rumors and they can kill moral. So had to be dealt with at times. I learned then to wait and try not to jump to conclusions. Some of these social media “insider” hacks use fear to get clicks and views. I have over 150 accounts bookmarked and can sift through and know who os more trustworthy than others. All free too.
I would just caution to not get too high or low on departing players/coaches and let it play out til next season. When we have the spring game we’ll finally see our new O and new QB at work. And then all will see how much potential we have. Until then its going to be a roller coaster

My fear is we win 7 games, maybe 8, but at least we don’t get blown out as much and Joe C says that’s good enough for year 5. Maybe we get surprised next year with Mateer and Arbuckle’s system in place and exceed all expectations. That would lower the temperature dramatically. Just based off BVs body of work thus far I don’t see it happening and we are stuck with a guy who might get a 10 win season eventually but is never a serious contender.

2025 will tell the tale. Playoffs or BV is gone is my guess.
People don’t realize how long of a downward spiral we were in under LR. He regressed every year not just the last year. Team and coaches had to be rebuilt from ground up. Lebby was a bandaid to get some momentum but he left. BV promoted Seth and that was a bad move. Start over with what I think is a great OC hire and a great portal QB. Arbuckle is not an OU legacy in any way, so this is good. As long ad BV is here we’ll have good D. But he had to overcome a lot not counting being given the hardest SEC schedule.

Ya certainly did him no favors with the schedule but a lot of those losses were just bad bad losses, tough opponent/environment or not. Could argue next season is even tougher with UM coming to Norman early. We will find out real quick what impact these offseason changes have on the team. I don’t think Joe C cans him if we miss playoffs but if we get embarrassed like this season he won’t have a choice.

Will never happen but imagine BV brought in Bob as DC

I don’t think so. The schedule is ridiculous. He is probably ok with 7 wins. We’re not receiving any SEC revenue for 2024 and replacing this staff will be expensive.

How can that be? I thought increased revenue was a major reason to contract with a new business association, er, re-align conferences.
(That, and more likely to recruit top defensive tackles to an SEC schedule.)

I think it has to do with leaving B12 early and the buyout.
