OU and his attorney had their shite together. NCAA drug their feet and it cost them.
Also, seeing Brent and Nagy take the stand for a rile player says a lot about them and OU. Will show recruits the lengths they’ll go to help

Hell they, or at least Brent, got a shout out from the NCAA's lawyer on how well the program is being run. .
This is a great day, man. I was so much hoping Owen would be back!!!! BOOMER!

Great interview by George. He’s who I quoted for majority of this thread. He was live tweeting in the courthouse his fingers must be sore. Shows value in twitter vice old days waiting for an article.
Happy for Owen, can imagine the stress he’s been under waiting. Really great young man who cares about program and mentoring younger players.

I want to say THANK YOU for providing all this information for this important time.

I found it fascinating. There was so much more to the story than one would know without this hearing.
Yesterday I listened to Owen on radio interview and he was going to move on. Said it was Brent and Nagy being persistent that finally convinced him to pursue. Said otherwise he would not have.
Shows how much Brent and Nagy care about the players. They have a spring game Sat and are spending time on Thu in court to support one player out of 105. That resonates.
And now we have the facts laid out in court. Like his medical records not submitted. And something I never thought of was Covid implications in HS recruiting. He wasn’t a high recruit and needed to be seen to get a chance. And never got that. Very smart of them to add that approach to the case. And his HS coach coming to testify too. Shows how much people cared about him.
He’s someone who doesn’t like to make waves and tries to stay out of limelight. Really good kid and I’m happy for him.

But wait there’s more. NZAA hates OU. My guess is they keep ruling but I’m only a lawyer online and not in real life so who knows

George Stoia III
@GeorgeStoia
legal team has 30 days to respond to the NCAA's appeal.
Notable: The same thing happened with Trinidad Chambliss, in which the Mississippi Supreme Court threw out the case.

The NCAA is full of idiots
The Oklahoma Supreme Court has filed a new document: The NCAA filed an appeal using the wrong type of court document. The OK Supreme Court is giving them until May 11 to refile with the correct paperwork, and in the meantime, Heinecke's eligibility relief remains in effect. If the appeal moves forward, the full trial court record must be submitted to the Supreme Court by June 16.

In general, appellate courts are very strict about filing requirements. Given the volume of cases on their dockets, this is necessary for efficiency and to keep matters moving. Anyone who has litigated before the Oklahoma Supreme Court is familiar with this.
For example, we recently had a case where the petitioners were required to amend their Reply because it exceeded the five-page limit (it was 6 pages).

Feels like NCAA intentionally made mistakes and missing filing date so they have cover
Saw this comment by someone:
This is deliberate. That way they can claim it was a technicality and not a ruling in Heinecke’s favor. Thus removing a precedent and giving them more time to strengthen their case on potential future lawsuits. They will let Heinecke have his year.

Now I'm even more confused.
Does this mean the "big ruling" at the Cleveland County Courthouse stands?
Owen gets to play ball?
I was certain the NCAA would sabotage the good news any way they could, with any sleazy gambit they could scheme up.

Yes. NZAA lost in court. They filed an appeal. They made several mistakes in their appeal filing and had 30 days to correct. They didn’t.
What most legal peeps say is they intentionally flubbed the appeal so technically they can say it was a clerical error why he gets to play not a loss. It gives them cover to try and railroad other players because it was never heard in appeal.
They knew they’d lose and didn’t want that on record. They will always claim technicality vs actual loss. Even though they woulda lost again
