Hey thanks for letting me onto your board.

I am curious about why Moser isn’t working out in Norman?

I remember wanting to hire him as he was THE hot name hire for many years and seemed like an obvious slam dunk.

Not to mention OU has had some pretty solid years in MBK in the 2010s

His system is just broken. He really has no good offensive system. He was saved a year ago by Fears and that was luck getting him. Fears reclassed late and this left most schools unable to sign him so OU did. Otherwise Porter would be gone.

He has preached to get fans out yet has lost every big game in Norman. This year he has his best on paper team yet the worst on court product.

To be fair the school hasn’t invested enough resources into mens BB, and that plays a part. But Moser is just not a good coach at this level.

On the flip side, Trae Young put in $1m of his own money to help program. Was named asst GM of BB. Moser has to go. And since our AD retires by end of sports year (June 30 I think) will he fire or leave mess for new AD?

I honestly have not given it any thought. Thats the dilemma, our outgoing AD has been here since pre-Stoops so a long time. Will he fire then hire? Or let new AD fire/hire?

Thats why its not worth my time to dig in. Until we know what happens and when (Moser/AD) there is no way to guess and I’ll wait and see what happens

5-27 from 3. 63 total shots and we keep taking 3’s and missing.

Lost 85-76. Pathetic. Leave Moser on the tarmac. He has destroyed our program. Didn’t even play Kuol Atak until 1 min left. Porter just let Pack take 3 after 3. Pack went 0-7 from 3. Where is the coach benching him and trying someone else? Where is HC telling him to stop taking 3’s?

What a fricking dumpster fire. No one goes to games because they suck. And will suck until Porter is gone. No offensive system just jack up 3’s to try and pad personal stats not help the team.

Good riddance whenever our lame duck AD gets off his arse and fires him. Lets hope its tonight. My guess is AD does nothing. Which delays the recovery.

Saw this (it was posted before the season)

Kellen Sampson, Houston

When possible coaching candidates are brought up, former OU coach Kelvin Sampson is almost always mentioned by fans because of the success the Sooners had during his era. However, Sampson isn't going to leave Houston, nor is he OU's answer. However, his son, Kellen, would come from the same mold, but 40 years old instead of 70.

Kellen is an OU alum after playing for his dad in 2004-07. After his playing days were over, he immediately starting coaching at the college level, including a stop at OU in 2008-10 under his father. Kellen has continued to assist his father at Houston since 2014, which includes two recent trips to the Final Four. Kellen is likely sticking around Houston to be his father's successor, but he could still jump now at his first head coaching gig if it was at his alma mater.

I loathe "keep it in the family" hires but I will take anything at this point.

I don't think Moser's a bad coach. Just a tremendously bad fit. OU men's BB needs someone who can create an identity that attracts recruits. At Loyola, all Moser had to do was accept the recruiting scraps of the Chicago area, which is full of good talent.

Had a couple good seasons at Loyola but now with NIL and the portal, OU is a tough place to attract & keep good talent unless they are winning. Tough situation for him, hard to develop talent when they're only here for one season and rebuilding the team every year. But he's got to go.

I don’t think he’s a good coach. His brand is very iso. He doesn’t have a working system or the players don’t listen. But he’s had so many different players so by now I say its coaching not players. Had they just shot 2’s last night they win. He hasn’t taught them how to play smart.

I’m 100% off the bandwagon. He has his best on paper team and has failed.

When we need a shot that gives a little separation or can ice the game we can't hit

35 seconds left goes we will see how this one turns out.

They hit a 3 point buzzer beater for OT and then in OT did the same for a 1 point win.

We lost when Moser didn’t foul at end of reg.

New AD needs to act fast fans are checked out on his 5 year disaster.

Moser needed to go weeks ago but whoever's the next coach, the new AD will have to get the men's BB program more support. I imagine it is extremely difficult to teach a team how to win games when it's a different set of guys every year.

How do you drum up fan engagement and NIL dollars for basketball at OU? That will be difficult as well but it's his first project and I look forward to seeing how things shake out

Its free because right now no one will pay to watch. There is no “juice” or hope with current program. Moser got paid millions to be better and has failed. The sooner he’s gone the better.

Why on earth would Porter think his two guards were tall enough and physical enough to play in the sec is beyond me . Pack is a great scorer but they will not and can’t guard anyone. We have enough size that we should be getting more rebounds but they play so passive .

I simply can not watch this team play basketball . Every year it gets later and later for me to watch them and this year sure enough right on point …. They simply can’t guard anyone on a single end of game shot to save their life …. The last shot was an amazing shot but it should have never gotten that far . Porter is just average anyone telling you something different just doesn’t know basketball .
