Oklahoma OC Ben Arbuckle on the O-line:
“I don’t know if I’m any more proud of a specific position group on our offense than our offensive line… it’s been incredible to see.”
—-
Who is one player Isaiah Sategna is excited to watch this year who isn’t a receiver?
Jonathan Hatton.
“He’s one of the fastest on the team.”
——
"I consider myself really fortunate to be able to coach him for a fourth year... excited to see him go out there tomorrow and kick off this season." -- Sooners OC Ben Arbuckle on coach QB John Mateer for four years now.
——
Who is one player Jayden Jackson is excited to watch this season who isn't a defensive tackle?
Cole Sullivan, PJ Adebawore, Michael Fasusi and Ryan Fodje.
——
OC Ben Arbuckle on the running back room:
“Excited to get X and Tory rolling again.”
He added that RBs coach Deland McCullough’s “attention to detail” has allowed the run game to improve throughout the offseason.
——
OU tight ends coach Jason on John Mateer: “He made it a point to stop by my office… We’ve talked a lot of ball… He wants to learn and grow and get better.”
Witten says he’s spent a lot of time with Mateer this offseason
——
WR coach Emmett Jones clarified Trell Harris’ rehab this offseason, saying he had a “minor setback,” but that there’s “no concern at all with” him.
“You’ll see him out there running routes. Iffy, not with us, but with the trainers. A couple of other guys may be with the trainers also.”
——
OU offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh says having five guys back who have starting experience makes a big difference.
He feels like this group has a chance to be really good and is in a much different spot this fall than last year.
—-
OU receivers coach Emmett Jones talking about the younger players in his room. Specifically points out freshman Daniel Odom as someone who has grown a lot this offseason.

Love this mentality

Banger quote from Miguel Chavis heading into the 2026 season and the expectations at OU:
“We went to the playoffs. That’s great. We ain’t win the playoff game. You know, win a freaking playoff game. You’re up 17 to zero. Go win the game. This is Oklahoma... It consumes me every day to win a national championship at Oklahoma, and I think that’s the standard. You know, we have seven national championships. I love talking about some national championships. But let’s talk about the new national championship. This is going into year three in the SEC. Why wait?”

I don't think there are 8 teams better than us. We can beat every team ahead of us. People are always bearish on OU because we haven't won a title for over 25 years, past defensive woes, lack of a running game last year. There's always something holding back voters. I think all of that changes this year.

“I build the room based on ‘jobs.’ … If one or two guys are doing all those jobs, I messed up.”
New #Sooners running backs coach Deland McCullough went in-depth on how he’ll manage the Oklahoma RB room, and the unique philosophy to which he adheres.
Deland McCullough has high — and explicit — expectations for his #Sooners RB room. Loved this quote in particular.
